Yeah perhaps it’s an account takeover. Or someone decided to karma farm. Either way, it sucks and has made me more skeptical of what I read on Hacker News which, until now, had felt like a pocket of the internet where I could get genuine opinions

It’s sad/dystopic to see people genuinely replying to slop accounts

I have noticed slop on Hacker news too

All of their responses contain an anecdote related to their “personal experience” in whatever the topic is.

I wouldn’t have noticed had one comment not included part of their prompt

Nowadays she is happy and healthy with a penchant for chasing squirrels

We have since moved back to London where she has fit right in

She quickly forgot she was a street dog and settled into her new life

She needed a cone for the first 6 months to stop her itching, and little jumper to keep her warm until she put some weight on

We needed to get her home to Bogotá, but she was too ill to fly so our only option was a 28-hour bus

It was hit and miss as to whether she would make it so we extended our trip and hoped for the best.

Once she was strong enough, we quickly found out that she loved cuddles

We knew she would die if we left her so we set off to take the saddest dog in the world to the vets

Back in April 2019, my wife and I were on holiday in Cartagena, Colombia when a sick and frail dog came and sat under our sun lounger.
