20.06.2025 18:58 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Man RSC is amazing. The interplay you can have between client and server - to reduce resource usage on the server is awesome
In my real world example I lazily convert markdown into html based on if it's visible or not; doing this in rsc is a cinch.
I dropped you an email!

No worries, I misspelled my own last name for a few years in primary school
17.06.2025 18:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really enjoyed this discussion! Thanks for letting me ramble on!
17.06.2025 16:21 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We had Peter Pistorous on @shoptalkshow.com to talk about @redwoodjs.com and their pivot to RedwoodSDK. Spoiler: I was pleasantly surprised by the principles:
- Zero magic (code gen or transpiler hacks)
- Composability over configuration
- Uses native Web APIs
shoptalkshow.com/669/
What impressed me was prioritizing economic justice at the framework level. That manifests in minimal code sent to the client hosted on a Cloudflare edge worker for free; reducing costs for website owners and customers.
No $20/mo hosting lock-in scheme.
Wish #webcomponents had an SDK like this...
that's right, teach them the dogma!

Very excited to announce that I'll partner with @redwoodjs.com over the coming months to improve Cloudflare worker support for @livestore.dev

But in 2025? It kinda does.
Too much integration, not enough code.
Today on PodRocket, @p4p8.bsky.social talks @redwoodjs.com, clean code, and tools that just work. ๐

Sorry for the audio quality. I had a toddler in the background. You asked "what's changed?" The answer is "EVERYTHING!"
Congrats! It's the longest shortest time, but so worth it!
I'll send a video shortly.
@cassidoo.co I saw you opened a PR on the old RedwoodJS website, are you taking a look at RedwoodSDK? Can I give you a demo?

@p4p8.bsky.social, and to Cloudflare for hosting us!
I think one of the reasons React stuck with me is because it taught me how to think.
Not just about components, but about breaking problems down. Same goes for request/response. It's grounding.
RedwoodSDK allows you to co-locate entire sections of your web-app. You to think like the web works!
You only get so much time. Spend it becoming a better builder, not just a better user.
24.04.2025 16:50 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Is it helping you understand techโor just teaching you to use a product?
If youโre curious about how things really work, start closer to the metal.
Learn the core ideas. Build with tools that make sense to you, not just to the enterprise.
I was lucky. When I started, big tech hadnโt abstracted everything yet.
We learned the fundamentals because thatโs all there was.
Today, youโre surrounded by tools that hide the basics behind glossy UIs and certifications.
Before you spend years learning one companyโs abstraction, ask yourself:
React isn't just a UI library. The first time it clicked, it rewired how I thought about software. It became a tool for thought. Just like the request and response cycle is more than a protocol, It's a mental model. A way to orient yourself in the chaos of vibe programming.
