"Look! The peculiar mind made a shiny thing! I want it! My desire hungers for it! I must take it! I must do all I can to take it! For I believe the only thing that matters, is status, money and power!
What a great mind they are, for feeding my gluttonous pursuit of status!"

The peculiarity is no longer a peculiarity, but an opportunity.
And so the big label "peculiar" we have plastered across their face, falls, and an even bigger label, "great", takes it's place.

"Look! I was this great mind's teacher/superior/professor! I didn't really mean to doubt and undermine them!" Says the doubter and underminer, desparate to recover his almost wasted "opportunity."

But when the peculiar mind gloriously crafts "great" discoveries and "great" works, we put aside that word "peculiar". We put aside our shame for our doubt and undermining of them, in favor of greed and desire for status.

All the so-called "great" minds, care about the soul and the mind. Status is not, and never was their primary concern.
It is as if the attitude of the world is "Ah, a peculiar mind. This is not normal. It goes against my pre-conceptions. It must be a force of chaos and chaos alone.
And I fear chaos"

Does "brilliance" only get recognition when it becomes a way to profit? to gain power? influence? Fame?
It appears so.

We are so obsessed with status, power, and money, that we neglect to nurture our soul and our mind. And we deem foolish those who do.

Yet still, when "great" minds speak and present their ideas today, they are still doubted and undermined, just like all the "greats" before them.
It is as if we have learned very little of the past. Perhaps knowledge of the past is not all that is needed to learn from past mistakes.
