tree crews are pros who are working around the clock, this kind of communication is causing its own kind of alarm. I am continuing to press NES for better info and progress and won’t let up. (NES has promised to update this graphic at their website, so I hope we get a more useful version soon)

NES published this graphic after I sent out a district newsletter this morning but this graphic is causing more trouble than help, and I am very upset by this way of communicating. For one thing, the date reflects their estimate of restoration for the *last* house in a zip code β€” NOT the /

Quick update: Glad to be able to say that β€œNashville 911” has shut down their film shoot that was happening in East. Really outrageous for them to be doing that in front of homes without power in this storm. Thanks to the Mayor’s office for helping me with that request.

But as we comply with court rulings, we are not going to do that: we are going to proceed in a dignified way and the council will continue to serve the people of Nashville. Nashville is strong and our people are strong and that’s not going to change. We will love and work together.

We, Nashville, just received an adverse decision in the Council Reduction Act case from the Court of Appeals. There will be further proceedings, and as you know, I strongly disagree with this decision. But let me say this: part of the goal of this Act is to pit Nashville against itself /

Got to love a new arboretum in Nashville! Congrats to @freddieoconnell.bsky.social and @jkupin4d19.bsky.social for cutting the ribbon on the Nashville Downtown Arboretum. Rain moved the ceremony inside (despite my druthers) but drink up, trees, and grow strong!

Criminalizing votes of local officials is Tennessee's modern Scopes Monkey Trial | Opinion In Tennessee, a century after the Scopes Monkey Trial, it is now a crime for local leaders to vote in favor of sanctuary city policies.

We love hosting Nashville’s annual Arbor Day celebration in East Park. Special in particular this year are the memorial trees planted for Bill Freeman and Rev. James Lawson, both dearly missed. Thanks to all who came out: this is the 150th year of Arbor Day in Tennessee!

Powerful afternoon at the SEIU Town Hall, listening to Metro employees speak about the work they doβ€”staffing schools, 911 dispatch, providing clean water, fixing roads, collecting trash, and on and onβ€”they serve our city and need to be supported!

Trump and maga are pretending to be invincible. They aren’t. Not even close. They will try to dismantle free government in America, but the Constitution is stronger than them. We are stronger than them. Don’t be demoralized. It will be a long road, but they are not going to win. We are.
