Most people sleep on Google when job hunting.

But if you know how to search like a sniper, you can skip the noise and go straight to high-quality roles.

Here’s one of the search strings I give my clients when they’re looking for remote, senior-level GRC roles:

Shift your attention to what the role actually requires, and you’ll uncover a wider range of openings—many of which your competition won’t even think to apply for. That kind of strategy puts you way ahead in the game.

Break down what a business analyst actually does, then search for roles that involve those same responsibilities You’ll often find jobs like “Operations Analyst,” “Insights Coordinator,” or “Data Specialist” that involve the same day-to-day work. Focusing solely on job titles will limit your options

A lot of people disqualify themselves from great opportunities just because the job title doesn’t match what they’re looking for. If you're aiming for a business analyst role, don't only search for that title—look deeper.

Best:
Increased Q3 revenue by 20% (X) by designing and launching a mall-based referral program and coordinating in-person promotions with 4 nearby retailers (Y), driving a 35% boost in foot traffic during peak hours and repeat customer visits. (Z)

Same action. Way more polish.

I've said this before, fall back on the XYZ formula to write your resume. This is the difference between getting skipped and getting called.

Bad:
“Increased sales by promoting the restaurant to mall visitors.”

Better:
“Increased revenue by 20% through executing a localized marketing campaign.

Got a friend that's trying to launch a business? Be a content creator on Tik Tok or IG? Know a business that's not doing too well that you love? Jump on the chance to help them out with the skills that you're developing then list them as a client on your resume with that skill front and centre.
