This is an important issue in voting. Presidential candidates campaign in basically only the seven swing states because most of the rest of the countries votes are irrelevant; This needs to change.

Additionally, why are we even trying to stay on DST in Washington? Do we really need it to be light until 10 pm during the summer?
On top of that, health sources I have read indicate that standard time is better for our health with midday (noon) occurring when the sun is highest in the sky.
Why don't we just stay on standard time, which we don't need approval from Congress for, until Congress gets around to actually passing one of these bills.
Being on DST during the winter in Washington means it's dark until 9 am. Not great for the safety of kids going to school.
