"They ffure do," Phoenix responded with his mouth full of pancakes and another load on his fork.

"I never even thought about adopting a kid before I got Trucy, but now everything I see in relation to it makes me bawl," Phoenix chuckled.

Phoenix was working on his a little longer, but he ended up finishing it. Once Miles was back with them, he sat up a bit, scooting to make room for him between him and Trucy. "Come on then, show us the options, huh?"

"Intriguing! I can‘t wait to fond out." He beamed happily at the sight of that pile. "Oh, these look amazing..!"

"Mh? Oh – Miles, sorry," Phoenix chuckled, wiping the tears Miles hadn’t gotten yet. "Sorry, I just saw such a heartwarming video, and you know me. Waterworks were right on."

"Nah, it‘s okay, I‘m just taking it slow." He took another bite and hummed. "This is such comfort food for me, though. Simple, but delicious."

"A whole day? What are you up to, huh," he accepted the mug and sat down, breathing in the scent of the coffee. "Mmh…~"

Phoenix was looking a little emotional right now, slightly teary-eyed. He was watching a video about a mother hen hatching a peacock egg and raising her giant baby with love and care. This hit him right in the feels, for obvious reasons.

"It’s good, thanks," Phoenix hummed. "Still having some trouble with it, but that’s more a me thing right now, I fear."

"Good morning, love," Phoenix hummed, smiling a bit sleepily. "Smells amazing. Birthday breakfast, yeah?"

Phoenix was lying back, letting Miles rest on him and sleep. He wasn’t very tired himself yet, so he put on a headphone and watched some videos on his phone with the light of the screen dimmed. Without really realizing, he was doing that for quite a while, perfectly content with this position.

"Let‘s look at your picks later then," Phoenix suggested gleefully. The idea brought him so much joy. He‘d always dreamed of having a family, the thought of a big cuddle pile with all his loved ones filled him with such warmth. He was already feeling rather blissful right now.

I think my grays look pretty good on me, actually. I‘m too lazy to dye my hair anyway

Breakfast, wee..! He throws on one of Miles’ fluffy robes and down he comes, following the smell.

Glad to feel the other relax, Phoenix pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his head. "Get some sleep, love. You‘ll feel much better once you‘re well-rested, I‘m sure."

The image of that made Phoenix chuckle. "Aw, really? Can I help pick one? I like those corner ones, they always look super cozy."

"That‘s a nice idea, but chances are I‘m going to embarrass myself further either way. I tend to do that."

Sips… Mmh. Now that‘s the stuff.

"How‘s that? Feel good?" he asked him quietly, nuzzling into his hair.

"But sweet," Phoenix chuckled. "We‘re gonna need a bigger couch."

He began to eat as well, taking his time with each bite.

Phoenix changed into his own pajamas. Before joining Miles, he pulled over some chairs and blankets, building a little makeshift blanket fort over their bed to make it more comfortable and lock out the outside world for a bit.

Then he crawled into bed and pulled Miles into his arms. "Hey there."

"Aw, honey, you don’t have to eat on the floor! We can make more room, I‘m sure."

He looked up and down the couch. Pess had his left side, Trucy most of his right. Well.

"Not for long. Here, these are super comforting." He picked out a fresh set of pajamas, a deep auburn set with very soft fabric, and helped Miles put it on. "How about you get under the covers to warm up while I get changed? And I‘ll join you in a moment."

That warmed Phoenix‘s heart. He truly had the best daughter in the world.

Very carefully, he sat up in a straighter position so he‘d be able to eat. It hurt a bit, so he pulled a face, but it wasn’t unbearable.

"I must've looked real pathetic there for you to be so generous," Phoenix chuckled, but he held out his cup again. "Gladly, yes. Tastes good."

"Not at all, never." He pressed a few more kisses to his face, the bridge of his nose, each cheek and finally his lips before he helps him undress.

"Can never go wrong with chocolate, I suppose." He leaned his head against hers, smiling. "Yeah, of course. You got anything specific in mind or are we just browsing?"
