"Well, now I've got a few ideas," Phoenix commented with a grin. On the way back, he kept peering over, looking at the ring on Miles' finger with the happiest little smile.

I was at Central Prison earlier, it's mad cold in there too. But I'll be fine, I'll just take a nice, hot bath later!

"I was imagining our wedding," Phoenix admitted with a chuckle. "Hard not to get lost in that thought!" He squeezed his hand before getting into the car with a happy sigh. "I can't wait to get home now. I am this close to breaking all our PDA rules," he joked once Miles was in the car as well.

Just had a cold shudder run down my back. Wonder what that's all about.

"Huh? Oh, woops!" Phoenix chuckled, deciding to walk closer to Miles and linking arms with him. "Sorry about that, had my head in the clouds, it seems."

Phoenix got up to help Miles into his coat, then put on his own as well. After paying, they headed back out to Miles‘ car, though Phoenix got distracted by the moon and looked up as they walked, almost running straight into a lantern.

"No way, this is my treat! I organized this all, after all," Phoenix insisted, pulling out his credit card and putting it down.

They were being so lovey-dovey, neither of them noticed the water taking away their empty plates. When Phoenix finally looked back, he let out a soft laugh. "Oh, dear. Guess we fully ignored our waiter."

The flush and the smile reserved for moments like this suited Miles so well. Phoenix couldn't ever get enough of it. "God, I love you. So much."

By the time Phoenix leaned back again, he was very red, but also beaming. "Goodness! You take my breath away, every time!"

Phoenix laughed as well, but he came right back, leaned in, and kissed Miles rather deeply.

Phoenix gasped, but he looked delighted. "Mr. Edgeworth! In public, too!"

Phoenix leaned over a bit, fluttering his eyelashes at Miles. "Would you, please?"

Phoenix always counted it as a big win when he got Miles to laugh like that, so he was grinning happily. "Think I'll have to live with this, huh?"

"I'm sure you are – hey!" He laughed, trying to lick it off the tip of his nose, but his tongue wasn't quite long enough.

Phoenix nudged Miles‘ leg with his foot. "Heeey. Don’t pout."

Phoenix grinned cheekily. "Night‘s still young," he said simply, licking his lips.

Phoenix leaned in and made a bit of a show eating from Miles' spoon while holding eye contact. "Mmh~"

After they'd made it through the main course, they were only left with dessert, which they decided to share. Phoenix took a spoonful of the ice cream and some berries, then held it out for Miles. "Bet it tastes better when I feed it to you."

Phoenix smiled at him, glad to hear it again. He had been stressing about it for so long, wanting to do it right and not just do it, so he was glad Miles was happy with it. "I love you so much. I'm so glad you liked it."

God, Kris. You really know how to make my skin crawl. And not in the good way.

"And you have to clean it off after, too! Seems impractical," Phoenix mused. "No, I think that old tree was a better choice. Our friendship tree, so to speak, hehe."

I guess I just keep having the hopeless illusion that you may give it up and move on eventually.

Phoenix did the same thing, then dug into his food. He chuckled at some point. "You know, I considered the whole, ring in the champagne glass thing. But I figured with our luck, you might have accidentally swallowed it."

They were served their first course as well as some champagne, which Phoenix promptly rose for a toast. "To us, then."

Oh, I should've seen that coming...

The thought made Phoenix smile as well. "We've been getting along better recently. I guess she sees that this makes you happy."
