It has always been one of my conundrums (interesting or not) when seeing a list of schools with the highest attendance. Some of the common things they have: affluence, family support, great teachers, well rounded students, lots of extracurricular activities, various opportunities and resources 🤔

Building community is great if and when it is done with genuine and sincere actions. When words are not followed through with appropriate actions, community building becomes just an item on a checklist.

Why is our first reaction to ban something when a kid does something wrong on a device or social media? What does that accomplish? Sure, it’s easier to do that and sometimes kids need breaks, but banning something only encourages them to sneak it behind your back and avoid hard conversations.
