That policy is in direct violation of federal law. The administration has already lost several times in federal courts on this issue

She spent $8 MILLION in a few months-which was the entire annual budget for ICE, before the Democrats caved & ok’d the Republican budget to $170 MILLION, iirc.

I don't think you can just wave a magic wand to make this happen so it was probably illegal to do today. I'm not sure it will ever be practical (especially the way Kristi spends) but it could take longer this time.

There's an open question about how it applies to OBBB funding. It's absurd that if could apply to all DHS activities though.
