Also battle system aside, some of the overworld spells are just...useless. Like why do we keep the poison apple spell when you only once in the entire game???? 😭

That and Oliver's spells get outdated pretty quickly and the strong spells you do get cost a lot so I feel he lags behind a lot. 😭

Manifesting Klay's downfall HARD

NNK1 I am super far in (I'm in the mana arc IIRC) but I found myself getting kinda frustrated with the battles, your allies like to waste the hell out of their MP and recovery items cost a pretty penny.

I also have NNK2 and the battle system feels a lot better imo, especially cause the allies feel like they actually know what they're doing. I'm still pretty early in the game and have yet to complete it and NNK1 though.

In general I've been super distant from fandoms for the sake of my mental health and keep it between my friends, everything's been a looooooot more enjoyable since. The only reason I still interact is for art and stuff.

I do like Persona 5 but yeah, it absolutely has it's problems and I'm not gonna hide that. All game have their issues in fact. It just felt like the SMT fandom as a whole had *some* kind of problem going on with either the games, fans, or devs and I just can't be absorbing that shit every day.

Yeah, like I've said, I've dabbled into it (Mainly V but haven't completed that one. Should've made that more clear, my bad.) but I haven't gotten into any of the other SMT games and I probably should.
I do really like that the demons are based on real mythology as an myth nerd myself!

I have dabbled in SMT (Mainly Persona but I will get into the mainline I swear) and I have completely played the main story of Time Stranger and it's predecessor Cyber Sleuth, can confirm that they're pretty good!

Shoutout to Beastieball to have the most unique battle system I have ever seen and played, genuinely got me extremely addicted when I first played!

I have NNK1 and to be completely honest, the combat is not my favorite for various reasons. Not a fan of how only one character can befriend the familiars either.
But the designs are neat.

If I'd I wanted to play pokemon, I would just play pokemon. I am playing other monster collectors because I like seeing unique takes on it that isin't the exact same battle system and "complexity".
Temtem and Coromon are hard for me to get into because they feel *too* much like pokemon imho.
