Middle infielders must stay home at 2B when a runner tries to steal and make a quick tag. I swear some of them run to the pitcher’s mound and try to bring the tag back to the bag.
Using a balanced, 2-feet, low squat stance as a catcher with runners on base yields a better pop time, better lateral movement, more balls blocked, and quicker fielding of balls in front of the plate. I’ll die on this catcher’s box.
Every defensive player, especially the pitcher, must make their ability to prevent stolen bases a matter of particular pride.
This needs to follow this gentleman for the rest of his life.

Last summer I was a guest coach for a few weeks in Germany. True to their calling, all scorers there must attend classes, pass a test, & be certified. There scorebooks are standardized. Different but recognizable. Cheers.
