I would suggest that it reverts back to what users sign up with, which means that the original username should not be lost when adding a domain. Also, can I link multiple domains to my profile? [myname].com and [myname].dev for example?

They can allow users to set it on the client side, you can change it to whatever you want. You and your friends can be skeeting and others can be breezing and most people will probably just stick to posting. It would also be interesting to get data on how many changed it and what they changed it to.
