Realized I love setting smaller hourly writing goals instead of big daily wordcount goals. 😭🙏
Instead of 2500 words a day, try...
500 words every two hours.
250 words every hour.
125 words every 30 minutes.
It makes things feel so much less daunting!!
3) In reality, after my book got 'big' I was making less than at the start.
Many people thought it was 'okay' to pirate/steal my work since I'm 'definitely rich' now.
And now...I'm making so little I cannot be a fulltime author anymore, yet I still get insulted for being a 'rich author' often. 🙃
2) Creators don't make as much as you think we do (I wish though that would be nice), often we're overworked, underpaid & barely see most of our royalties: a majority percentage of it goes to the publisher. When you buy a book for $12, the author probably doesn't get more than $3-4 if they're lucky.

1) Actually cannot stress how tired I am that random internet strangers love to use the words 'privileged and rich' when they either insult me or justify pirating my book to my face, just because I have a successful book release. I'm still struggling, barely making ends meet.🧵⬇️
Basically, take the amount of money you think your favorite author gets, halve it, and then halve it again, and you have a number that's probably a lot closer to their actual earnings from writing.
"But I don't think they make that much!"
Halve that. Halve it again.
