Ssh they are trying to get tech money
But 1. they use it to slag AOC and 2. there’s a reasonable chance that AOC going at Trump and drawing national attention moves polls in marginal races over the long term more than eg MGP and Kelly voting for Republican polices

It is a fraudulent lie that “lessons from candidates who overperform” are useful for strategy.
By the Bazelon/Jain metrics, AOC underperforms because she finished under 80% in her district. But candidates like her don’t need to run up the score to 90%.
These metrics are garbage.
Which means that the lessons are garbage.
They’re getting together to do nothing more than act out a cult-like belief in neolibertarianism, complete with magic incantations (overperformance!!) you have to take on faith.
yes I see two factors - the funding thing (where the large donors are often Republicans) and that Greenblatt himself is a huge brownnoser to power and keeping both Netanyahu and donors happy serves his personal interests.
much of the ADL as a whole, outside leadership, isn’t terrible
2. This is the long read you want if you read one

Oh I have that for you!
you know it's a great joke because he has to explain it
The Sulzberger New York Times has many problems. But this is not one of them.
“US Is at Fault in Strike on School in Iran” is at the top of the digital front page.
The Times deserves praise when they report important truths clearly, and they have done so here.
Who expects smol bean senators to have mighty courage and convictions of moms and nurses?
what makes me crazy is the inability of Dem leaders to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
Show courage. Act, for god's sake. Do what's right. Be loud. Oppose. Conduct yourself as if it is an emergency, Dems!
Political theorist and scholar @kjephd.bsky.social saying it is "superlatively dangerous" that Dems are not acting like an opposition party. Pay attention! We should, and Dem leaders should.
as @fleerultra.bsky.social says, yes, I and Alex Pretti and all the #nokings protestors and millions across the country actually do believe that our democracy is in peril. And that the Iran War is happening at indescribable cost to the country.
And when Dems don't act like that it makes us angry.
Thank you
🧵
Every. Word. Of. This.
Can you imagine being a staffer for one of these Senators now? It must be like a hostage situation.
Obvious to anyone with a lick of courage

yes, they are stupid, not just cowardly -- this is the way to lose a presidential race in 2028
Let's be honest and speak clearly:
they are losers and fools
Pretti and Good were killed, we are wasting billions in Iran, the president is a corrupt fraud and his peons are bloodthirsty fascists.
meanwhile Democratic Senators don't want to win. Bad politics, bad policy, just cowardice and stupidity
My guess is that Gen Z is defecting en masse — after their crappy Biden coverage which we know was directed by Sulzberger, and now the bad Mamdani coverage.
The Times has been doing a lot of vertical video too, which suggests they are looking carefully at young people.
It looks like the NY Times Politics section under AG Sulzberger is starting to slowly implode.
They have to know that this BS 👇👇 isn’t going to work. This smells of desperation. The criticism must be getting hot.

What a load of defensive BS from @nytimes in re: its snotty hit piece on Mamdani. See @jameeljaffer.bsky.social’s careful, measured response.
Cowards and stupid, then
Democratic Party polling, -22 against a fascist regime — whose party polls better than we do!
Do they think this won’t harm them?
That they need to do nothing to change it?
the thing I don’t get is that it’s not just cowardly. It’s also dumb as a box of rocks.
Can someone, for real, explain to me what these senators think they can gain by voting for Trump nominees?
I see zero upside. Less than zero. Huge risk.
What kind of loser information bubble are the senators operating in?
So much was said about @slotkin.senate.gov and @captmarkkelly.bsky.social for this video.
But they can’t vote against Trump nominees?
That is rank cowardice. There’s no 40 dimensional chess here. No one is going to reward them at the polls for voting in a bipartisan way for fascist nominees.
So many average citizens have stood up to Trump.
Alex Pretti went to the street to protect his fellow humans, who the Trump regime was harming. He lost his life for it. Renee Good lost her life for resisting.
And sorry, but—these fucking cowards in the Senate can’t vote against Trump nominees?
