People have sort of started assuming anything with "generation/generator" is "ai" despite random and procedural generation being a thing since forever.
Its silly.
Like if you're using old software I feel like having to tweak a few things and concert a few file formats is just something you have to accept.
I'm half convinced that the people who vehemently hate webp because some software they use doesn't support it don't realize that you can convert images to another format. Like, its not this gargantuan inconvenience the level of complaining would have you believe.
I managed to save the data with a program called ddrescue though, I'm so relieved it wasn't all just gone.
I had backups but it would have set me back several months. Got to do those more often or set up something automatic tbh.
Yesterday my SSD started failing and I nearly had a fucking panic attack (lots of unfinished, un backed up art on there) when it was reporting as being read-only, yet weirdly neither the file manager or the partition manager could get it to actually mount or read the partition with my stuff on it.
Hell, half the gags and jokes in it would not have been half as funny as they were if they weren't deliberately drawn even shittier!
Boomers absolutely lap that shit up, and will get straight up aggro and offended if you tell them it's fake, even if you explain in detail why.
Oooough I love this, the lighting, curves and the way it just exudes cool sassy attitude without even seeing the face is so gooooood.
That or they'll just harvest brains from "undesirables" that have been thrown in camps to get rid of them.
Like yeah that kind of worst case scenario might happen if nobody fights back but nobody is gonna care if you have "ehh, it's all compromised anyway, privacy is already dead, who cars" as your starting point.

I'm seeing people who don't know what they are talking about say things like "There's no point to changing my OS or my email. They're putting ID verification in all the computers soon!!!" and this kind of conspiracism just makes people more complacent than savvy, I see it time and time again.
They are objectively better that the usual Gmail and whatnot on this, which is why people saying "Oh Proton sold out! looks like they're all the same!" is infuriating because it just lets people be smug and complacent with worse, more privacy violating services

Any time something crappy Microsoft is doing starts making the rounds there's always a cycle of discourse I find annoying.
People saying that they might look into using Linux (if they actually switch, just dabble in it, or only talk about it is irrelevant) and then a weird sort of backlash to that.
I have seen vastly more posts loudly whining about "How Much Linux Sucks" and "How Much I Will Never Use Linux" on this website than I have seen actual preachy linux users.
It feels like half valid tech reasons and half "bully the nerds" shit ngl.
