Yeah I wish the option of simply no longer having an underutilized fantasy NHL arena in our downtown had been on the table. There are so many other good ways we could have used the valuable public assets we forfeited in this deal.

The worst downtown Hamilton developments always involve the same question: "how do we hide all the poor folks from the wealthy clientele we seek to attract?"

Also worth pointing out we could have realized those savings if we had just razed Copps and sold/used the land for something else
