Who knows, maybe thatβs still too clunky
Though for games where the camera isnβt locked to your back, I kinda get it more. I think you could have the strengths and weaknesses of tank controls there without the βclunkβ of forward on the stick not moving forward on the screen

Also, not exactly a retro revival, but the developer of Frebbventure (2D action platformer) removed the dodge iframes in the sequel. Decided they were too centralizing. Though the tag team system makes it a lot less restrictive again
