I wish playing #Valheim counted as sleep.

Our contracts are in the 10s of thousands, which is almost nothing to them but a very real burden for us to carry for an extra 2 months. But they can, so they do, despite our multi-decade, good relationship. This company made $84 billion in net sales last year. How much more do they need?

Me: Clients that provide better payment terms allow us to be more flexible as a team and respond to our clients needs more quickly, building better client relationships.

Them: Joshua, we have pulled our requisition from the buyer. Please disregard her emails. We will reach out shortly.

Me:... As there is no difference in the number of transactions between a net-30 agreement and a net-90 agreement, the frequency of transactions is identical in either case...

Me: Many of our clients have 30 day terms. By standardizing our payment cycle with all of them, we can simplify our accounting and better allocate resources within our engineering team...

Them: and better allocate resources within our finance team [wut?]. This consistency also helps us build stronger supplier relationships [how?], allowing for more effective collaboration and improved negotiation terms in the future [improved for who?].

Them: Many of our suppliers have 90 as day payment terms [thought it was all]. By standardizing our payment cycle with all of them, we can simplify our accounting [because typing 9 is more efficient than 3?], reduce the frequency of transactions [frequency stays exactly the same],...

Me: Please explain how 90-day terms would "significantly enhance the efficiency of [y]our financial processes".

Them: Currently, we have an established period of 30 days, and I would like to request a change to 90 days. These payment terms are what we currently have in place with all our suppliers [this is a lie]. This change would significantly enhance the efficiency of our financial processes.

Stuck in an airport all day and, in my grouchiness, I may have gone too far with yet another big corporate client that suddenly wants NET90 payment terms (they wait 90 days to pay us after we finish the work)...

It's always been on my list but I've still never played it.
