Illustration of the statue of Liberty raising an arm above her head. The flaming torch in her hand is melting the word ICE over her. Text reads Abolish ICE

Solidarity for Minnesota and their general strike today.
It's incredibly inspiring seeing the community and mutual aid that's come together there.

Photograph of a greeting card in front of a turquoise blue background with little white balled up paper balls sprinkled through. The card shows an illustration of a raccoon sitting hunched over, sticking their tongue into a mug of hot cocoa. The mug rests on the raccoon’s belly and small marshmallows have spilled out. The illustration also shows the marshmallows have fallen to the ground and nearby is the bag of marshmallows. The raccoons feet stick out and their right paw waves a tiny bit while their left paw steady’s the mug. The digital illustration that is printed on the card in the photograph accompanying this post. The line work, without color, of the illustration depicted on the card in the photograph accompanying this post.

This year’s holiday card illustration is inspired by the notorious raccoon in Virginia that is suspected of multiple break-ins. I think this raccoon just wants to be an indoor raccoon. Is that too much to ask?

Hand-drawn on a white paper bag, the block letters read “READY ADVENTURE” accented by two lines underneath. A cartoon cat stands smiling wearing a backpack. Their two front paws holding on to the backpack straps.

Just a quick little doodle on a gift bag for a friend. “READY ADVENTURE.” Is this the origin of a new character? Backpack Cat??

A week late for Free Comic Book Day, but here’s my page from Mutant #10, an anthology series from Atomic Books. It was free to pick-up last week!

Cherry blossom tree branch hangs over the top half of the photo. Out of focus in the background is the Tidal Basin and the Washington Monument is faintly visible.

A day trip with friends to see the cherry blossoms — visiting DC hits different 🥲 The last time I was in DC was for a Kamala Harris rally

Close up of a blue pencil sketch that is partially inked. The image shows a figure with a dog.

What blue pencil do you use? So you like it? I’m currently using a mechanical pilot color eno. #wip

Blue pencil sketches for a comic. The center sketch is of a creature with its mouth open and “AAA” coming out. Below that panel, there appears to be a fellow with a cap, glasses, and fangs.

Photo shows cut-out valentines. They are piled and show cupcake characters interacting. One valentine says, “I’m sweet on you! Happy Valentine’s Day!” Another valentine reads, “What’s up cupcake? Happy Valentine’s Day!”

If you need any last minute valentines, I got you!

A close-up photo of a bowl of glutinous rice dumplings, or tangyuan. The ceramic bowl is a light green color with little white blossoms painted on it. There is one rice ball with a small bite taken out — we can see the filling is a peanut paste. The partially eaten rice ball sits in a green ceramic spoon at the top of the photo.

I almost forgot today is the Lantern Festival, but luckily my mom texted! I’m eating tangyuan. It’s a glutinous rice dumpling — kind of like mochi. Its round shape symbolizes family, togetherness, and harmony. I have the peanut flavor ones! We need all the good fortune we can get this year

Pumpkinhead kneels next to a small lop-sided bookshelf with a drawer handle on the side and what appears to be extra unused parts on the floor. A cat peers around the shelf and looks up at Pumpkinhead who is re-consulting the instructions. The caption reads “was it supposed to have a handle?” The photo shows the front cover to a mini comic, More Adventures with Pumpkinhead by motobus. Pictured on the cover: Pumpkinhead sits at a table. He is paused over a notebook — pen in hand. His chin rests on the other hand. He is thinking. A coffee cup sits at his side. The physical mini comic leans on an exterior wall with gravel below and wildflowers and weeds coming through the cracks. Photo shows an interior spread of the mini comic, More Adventures with Pumpkinhead by motobus.

Sometimes I make mini comics. Like this one from 2019, More Adventures with Pumpkinhead. I actually need to make more copies!

A line drawing portrait of Kelly MacDonald from the film, Gosford Park. It’s a right side profile and she appears to be observing something out of frame. Her short dark hair at her jawline. Her expression is determined. A line drawing portrait of Nancy Kwan from the film, The Wild Affair. She faces forward, but her eyes glance off to the left of the frame. Her dark chin length hair is slightly disheveled. A line drawing portrait of Natalie Portman from the film, Léon: The Professional. Her face in 3/4 on her left side, she glances up cautiously. Her dark short bobbed hair sits under a crocheted hat.

Flipping through an old sketchbook from 2020 and picking out these bob haircuts. It’s classic look, isn’t it?

An illustration of a stylized snake in the shape of an “S” wears a little green cap. The cap is reminiscent of traditional Chinese caps. The snake floats in a wash of gold centered on a red background.

Happy Lunar New Year!

A ball of colorful string lights sits on top of a tree still tangled in a big knot. At the bottom of the otherwise undecorated tree is an elf plugging in the lights to a cord. The elf, in yellow, looks happy.

I almost forgot to share my holiday card illustration I made this year for friends and family. Something I threw together quickly and with some watercolors I dug out from somewhere that I haven’t touched in 20 years
