Dusky Warbler still in the willows at Boscathnoe Reservoir but very elusive. #cornwallbirding

Little Gull still on the estuary from Lelant Saltings. Probably viewable from the causeway. #cornwallbirds

After several failed attempts in the past we finally added Ross's Gull to our list. Gave great views on the roof of LIDL at Newlyn and in flight. Several quick walks between the harbour and LIDL paid off.

Hoping it stays until tomorrow.

Brimstone just flew through our Somerset garden. Spring is springing!

Decent views of the Spotted Redshank from VP1, Ham Wall. Kudos to the young birder from Birds of Poole Harbour who found it at the back in of the pool. Also: Redpoll, Treecreeper NFY. Large flock of Siskins, at least 8 Great Egrets (very active), Firecrest seen by others. #somersetbirds

Plenty of Bittern "throat clearing" at Shapwick this morning. We spent another happy hour (failing) to find the American Wigeon among the flock.
Nice yaffling Green Woodpecker and Egyptian Geese nfy. #somersetbirding

At least one Pacific Diver from the seats near the Mousehole sign early afternoon. Also several BT and GND. 3 Manx flew close in near St Clements Isle. #cornwallbirding

Good day out around Somerset. WF Geese at Sharpham and Pawlett Hams, Tundra Bean Geese at Pawlett Hams, Black Necked Grebe and 4 Scaup at Cheddar Reservoir. Also: Perregrine, Sparrowhawk, Egrets, Lapwings, Barnacle Goose.

Yesterday's Pallas's Warbler at Penrose Hill, Helston was a lovely way to reach 100 for the year. Beautiful bird in great company.

Great, "biggish day' around W Cornwall with @devontess.bsky.social and @p-sharpe.bsky.social. We managed 88 species, dawn to dusk, despite missing some "sitters" and getting the tide at Hayle wrong. Highlights: L Scaup (m+f), Scaup, Goldeneye, Spoonbill, R-Necked Duck, Perregrine, Marsh Harrier.
