Lifting IS a way to show my body I love myself.

It is a way to say “hey buddy, let’s stay capable” for as long as possible.

It is a way to challenge myself for the sake of a challenge - and to get a surge of endorphin-adrenaline (the same as summiting a mountain, for me)

The shift from lifting to be approved of by others, to lifting as an act of self-love, is real.

Lifting is not therapy. It’s not going to mend a broken heart, heal old trauma, or make them fall in love with me.

I get that now - clear as day.

Something else I’ve 100% noticed:

I’m not lifting as hard or as regularly as I once did. I still *love* the gym and putting my body into motion and moving the heavy around.

But the fire to do so has changed.
And my body? Still pretty happy.

Well, shit.

Today became a pretty rad day, and I really only accomplished very few things.

I did a shit ton this morning, and early afternoon, and then just…stopped.

Rest is good.
So damn good.

I met his neighbor, Carol, and now *she is interested in my coaching work*

We shall see, but also, HELL YES. ✨

Two out of ten? twelve? terrace walls uncovered. First pass of massive weed removal has produced 6 bags of yard waste (those oversized paper grocery bags) and I am *spent* for today.
