We’ve lost an old friend of Commodore.

Hedley Davis helped shape part of what many of us still love about this machine era: from the famous spinning globe REU demo, to work on peripherals & early Amiga systems.

We honor his contribution, & send our condolences to all who knew him and loved him.

Commodore supplied the hardware. Jeff Minter added llamas, lasers, and a lasting mark on game history.

At #GDC, grab a seat for Heart of Neon (@d0kk.bsky.social ), celebrate Jeff in full neon form, and get hands-on with the new Commodore 64 Ultimate.

Computing should be a family activity. It's so great seeing you and your dad enjoying a common interest.

If you're going to make an OS for tech enthusiasts, then it's hard to top real UNIX, with a side of X-Window.

Maybe we can just go back to the days of floppy diskettes. That will solve all the problems.

There's definitely room in the market for a multimedia-focused system and software. IDK what the design geniuses have in mind, but I do hear strange noises coming from their labs once in a while. I just hope it's not another pizza making robot. A person can only eat so much pizza in one day.

I did have a chat with our engineering genius about this, and he said that there is no sort of connection sensing on the CVBS outputs. They're always active. He did say that there's a slight impedance difference that may be weaking the signal just enough to cause issues.

Is this NTSC or PAL?

Have you put in a support ticket via www.commodore.net/contact-us with the specifics of your switching and capture hardware? I'm wondering if the problem might be going the other way - the signal being just attenuated enough that your monitor is not getting the color burst and not turning on color.

It's actually how I run one of my systems at home. I hook my monitor up through a Retrotink via S-Video and directly to a Camlink 4K for video capture.

I don't see a note about this on our bug board, but I do remember having a conversation about it. I'll make sure this gets listed.

I’ve spent many hours walking down memory lane with the Commodore 64 Ultimate, and it’s wondrous if sometimes intimidating More than just an emulation of the iconic home computer, the Commodore 64 Ultimate is a fantastic project for fans of that era. It’ll take some practice and memory recall from a bygone time, but it’s ...

4.5/5 stars from @techradar.com! Jennifer Allen called the Commodore 64 Ultimate “a triumph” and “a labor of love.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Read the full review here: www.techradar.com/gaming/commo...

Did you know that the C-64 Ultimate offers OPTICAL OUT for Audio? With that, you can solve many signalling problems you may remember from the original C64. Brilliant ...
