Loved this reflection from @jslbutler.bsky.social on IMRF 2025. The beauty of this conference is exactly that — the mix of perspectives and a true multisensory mosaic.

It was a pleasure to connect with many great perceptual researchers at #IMRF2025. There, I had the opportunity to share my current research comparing metacognitive access across bodily modalities + cheer on my colleagues from Tufts as they presented their own super cool work!

Organising a conference is pretty work-intensive, however, coming together over research, lunches and socials always reminds us what we're doing this for: our research community!
Many people I talked to at IMRF agree: our research community is special: open, supportive, inclusive, and creative😊

We heard about amazing research via talks, posters, and three excellent keynotes; learnt about different research methods, changes in publishing, and connected with new and old friends 🤝
Much food for thought, which all of us will take back into the different corners of the world we return to🌍🧠

It's a wrap!
We are happy to bring IMRF 2025 to a close, but also sad to say goodbye to so many lovely, smart people! (or at least "until next year").

Two smiling women embrace on the steps to a castle. One has her arms around the other and holds a prosecco glass.
A group of smiling academics gather around a picnic table in the courtyard of a castle. The table has plenty of wine on it.
Another year of IMRF!
Some snaps of the lab and friends at the conference dinner ♥️🥂
Thanks to the organisers of @imrf.bsky.social it's been a brilliant week of science and helpful discussions.
Fingers crossed to see everyone in Italy next year ! 🤞🏼

Person presents her scientific poster on a kalman filter model of human echolocation to a group of three people in a large room filled with other presenters during a poster session. The image is from a top-down angled view.
A gif of a person presenting her scientific poster on a kalman filter model of human echolocation to a few people. The gif contains two altering images of the person with different funny facial expressions as they explain their poster. The images are from behind the listeners, with the backs of their heads, with a direct view of the speaker.
Thank you #imrf2025 for providing the space to share ideas and to all the people who were interested in our Kalman Filter-based echolocators and provided valuable comments. The poster session was a blast!
And thanks @echodislocation.bsky.social for capturing only the best facial expressions!
