With MCP tools, is there any expectation of backwards compatibility? For traditional APIs making breaking changes in a big deal, but is an MCP client to assume that the list of tools and/or shape of them can change at any time without warning?

How I get more value from developer feedback in three steps Using a Coda doc to help me distill, collate, and disseminate developer feedback throughout the organization.

While Developer Advocates are often measured by what they send out into the world, maybe more important is how they bring feedback back into the organization. In this blog post I share some tips on how to do this effectively and the Coda doc that powers my process.

My wife and I remodeled our kitchen this summer, which is difficult for two people with no style. To help us get aligned, I created a Coda doc to run a special Kitchen edition of "hot or not". It was a great way to figure out our preferences, and it was fun too!

I recently did some work on the Coda Pack (integration) with Google Calendar, improving the sync logic. In the process I referred to some documentation and sample code, which I myself had written 10 years prior. Talk about coming full circle!

Had to put together a tiny little page today for a project, and had such a joy using Pico CSS for the first time. Didn't require me to learn anything new, and made my page look just non-janky enough to meet my needs. picocss.com

I use a Coda doc to collaborate with my wife on Christmas gifts (of course I do) and I was annoyed with having to copy and paste the details from the Amazon listing. So... I created a new Pack that will automatically pull the name, price, and photo from the link!

The execute command in the Packs CLI has been extended to support metadata functions, for example those that generate parameter autocomplete values. This change allows you to test more of your Pack locally before you upload it to our servers.

The new displayName field on schema properties allows you to more accurately control the default names of your sync table columns. Now you can ensure that special characters and casing are preserved in the final column name, making it easier for users to read and understand.

A side-by-side of my actual profile photo and a Pixar version created in Stable Diffusion.

I've been playing around with Stable Diffusion a bit on the weekends, trying to wrap my head around the myriad of options and prompts. My goal was to create a Pixar version of myself. Hard to dial in, but I am pretty happy with this result.
