👍👍 I can tell that marmalade doesn't last long in your house!

Whatever takes your fancy is fine. Marmalade would be a good choice in Dundee.
Here I'm sure honey would feature highly once I introduce them to the glories of scones, closely followed by blueberry jam and apricot jam.

How many seconds before you had them cut in half and slathered in butter? Or did they not last that long? 😉

He's half right. Theres no appetite for discussing it - just for going ahead and rejoining.

Britain won't exist by the time the English get round to considering it. Hopefully Scotland will have joined before then. Wales too.

Indeed! She always had a wide understanding of such issues that you would associate with someone much younger. And when you realise that some issues mentioned in QP and PF were illegal at the time its all the more suprising. Lymond doesnt sound like it was written in the 1960's.

All right everyone- save this quickly before they take it down! Scotland’s contribution to the U.K. exchequer is £204bn - from the U.K. government’s Scotland office! We are being robbed!

Every time I log onto the internet right now, it hurts me.

Today it was Education Scotland. They are encouraging TEACHERS to create AI-generated children’s books.

Meanwhile, I’m sitting here as a children’s author trying to muster every bit of strength I’ve got to keep going.

Slovenian cheese tends to be very mild but fortunately my girlfriend in Amsterdam sends me old mature Dutch cheese from time to time.

Excellent, thanks.
Looks simple enough (once I've learned Slovenian for self-raising flour) he says innocently, knowing that when mum made them even the dog wouldn't touch them!

Assuming I havent inherited the disasterous overdone baking gene from my mum I'll have to give it a try 🤞

"emotional support scones" is a phrase for the ages. I just need to learn how to bake as we don't have them here in Slovenia. Will just have to make do with Potica (local cake) and a good single malt while re-reading Dorothy Dunnett in my house in the mountains.

It has been a continuing pleasure and very much a labour of love. She was a very special lady whose life and work deserves to be remembered.

That he says this on the same day that Hegseth announces that the US policy is no quarter - a heinous war crime specifically singled out in the Hague Convention - is doubly disgusting. We should have nothing to do with the US illegal war.

Yes indeed. I still have a copy of the CD they made with their band called Bobland, which Dorothy gave me.

Other way around - Ninian is the elder.

From Alastair's autobiography I rather think he was the driving force behind naming them after the two Scottish saints.

Starmer as usual misses the irony
Thatcher is universally hated by Scots who lived through her reign
10%+ unemployment
Industry closing
Redundancies
Council house sales
"Get on yer bike" from Norman Tebbit
Decimation of Scotland

The collapse of Scottish food exports is no accident.
By decimating the market not only does it remove 'Scottish' as a quality brand name and therefore a product premium.
It makes these businesses unviable and therefore open to buyout at market crash prices.

I went to a session about kids & AI yesterday. One of the discussion questions was something like ‘what do you think kids need to know’ & tbh my real answer is ‘digital things used to be good & you deserve better’.

1. Computers used to come with good software, for free. It was intuitive to use.

Don't ever trust any unionist party, they've never been good for Scotland.

26? Ah, that would be Rugby League, where the pitches probably still have lots of mud (being mostly in the north of England). Rugby Union has 30 players - half of whom are trying to run into each other and half are trying to run away from each other.

The scoring in rugby is pretty simple - the many rules you can be penalised for somewhat less so!

You sound like a perfect candidate for a linesperson ;-)
Hey, if a Tory MSP can do it....

Mine was Boroughmuir in Edinburgh - rugby and basketball ruled. I was part of a very successful chess team - virtually zero recognition from the school.
I trained a few times with FP team - unbelievably good athletes, so fast, you couldn't get near them.

Magnificent game, and only a couple of too-late tries made the score respectable for France. Can we match that in Dublin?

I eventually learned the rope technique with the feet, but i was tall and skinny so anything that required strength and short levers was a no-go. Table tennis was my main sport until i eventually learned to play basketball after a fashion. Our FP team had 5 olympians so you had to try.

I like the inset simplified faces here, but in general i think your faces have improved from when I first followed you.
Need to make the cat more evil though 😉
