The first ep of it is really perfect. Mysterious and moody. Gets you invested in the show perfectly. And you keep wondering "wow, this is so cool, what is it all about?" And the answer is just, nothing.
I thought shiboyuugi is very interesting at first but the more I watch the more I feel its artsy for...nothing. It's a very pretty and melancholic show but Im not sure the artsy-ness serves anything really

Great ep of Ikoku Nikki. I really liked the framing and contrast of young Asa vs the adults and the idea that "figuring out what you wanna be/do in life" is something that doesnt neccesarily dawn on you one day, if ever. I think it will resnate with a lot of people
I think for a lot of them it would absolutely not matter, to be completely honest. Recently played Suikoden 1+2 and it was fine without VO but some of the epic fight cutscenes would probably cooler with.
