Oh Liana I’m so sorry to hear all this. Sometimes life can reach almost cosmic joke levels of tragedy but I’m really glad to hear you have such a strong support system around you. That’s how we get through these painfully unfair times 💖💖

PANEL 1 Sauveterre looks down at the phone, while Godzilla and Anguirus brawl in the background. The lieutenant scowls as they read. In the brawl, Anguirus rears back and donkey kicks Godzilla in its chest. 1. SFX KRAKK 2. SAUVETERRE … 3. SAUVETERRE You have it handled, non? PANEL 2 Sauveterre gets in Piper’s face. They’re having a full-blown argument in the middle of this monster throwdown. Piper doesn’t back down in the slightest, snatching her phone out of the lieutenant’s hands as she scowls up at them. 4. SAUVETERRE What is this? You’re some sort of monster tourist? 5. PIPER I’m not a tourist. I’m an observer. I report monster activity to a wide audience. Without bias. 6. SAUVETERRE Bias? They’re walking disasters. The only thing to report is the body count. 7. PIPER What about radiation leaks that attract them? Or how much military budgets have increased since Godzilla first woke up? PANEL 3 They’re even closer now, Piper is fully fired up while Sauveterre has gone cold, staring daggers at the woman with a tight frown. 8. SAUVETERRE In response to Godzilla. To save lives. 9. PIPER Oh yeah, cause you all do such a good job of stopping it. 10. SAUVETTERE ENOUGH. I’m not going to argue with a fool. You need to leave. Now. 11. PIPER I’m not going anywhere. PANEL 4 Over Piper and Sauveterre’s shoulders, Kendra has approached. She's got a pair of handcuffs dangling from one hand, slowly walking towards Piper. 12. SAUVETERRE Is that so? PANEL 5 Now in the interior of the EDF helicopter. Piper is handcuffed to one of the seats, FUMING. Carlos sits next to her, smiling as he keeps guard. Off-panel, Sauveterre goes over their gameplan. 13. SAUVETERRE - OFF-PANEL We’ll drop her off in Malaysia. 14. PIPER Is your boss always this much of a jerk? 15. CARLOS LT? Nah, total sweetheart. 16. CARLOS They must really hate you.

PANEL 1 Piper, left on a random beach in Malaysia, shakes her fist at the departing EDF helicopter. 1. PIPER %#$%^#!!! 2. CAPTION - PIPER To be fair, it was a wake-up call. PANEL 2 She sits in a dingy hotel room in Kuala Lumpur, sweating her ass off in a tank top and looking at her laptop. She’s got a little desktop fan pointed at her but it’s not doing much. 3. CAPTION - PIPER Almost getting flattened—again--and slapped in EDF handcuffs? In, like, two minutes? I had to step up my game. PANEL 3 Looking at her laptop, she’s got the digital equivalent of a conspiracy pin-board pulled up. Pictures of various monsters (MOTHRA, GIGAN, GODZILLA) as well as an EDF logo are all pulled up with indistinct notes scrawled underneath them. 4. CAPTION - PIPER I’ve got to be prepared. For the monsters, yeah, but the EDF too. I bet Sauveterre included me in their report. PANEL 4 Small panel of Piper’s cocky grin. 6. PIPER Huh…maybe I’ll get a reputation. Badass. PANEL 5 Cut to an EDF base, where two troopers are talking in the equipment locker room. On the far side of the room, Sauveterre goes through their own locker. They’re partially out of uniform, shirtless but wearing a binder. They’re absolutely ripped, but like a sprinter or swimmer. Lean, functional muscle, not mass. 7. EDF TROOPER 1 I swear to God. She went right through the webbing like it was nothing. Had some kind of acid in a spray bottle. 8. EDF TROOPER 2 No kidding? Might have to steal that trick. And it was just a civvie? 9. EDF TROOPER 1 I guess! No guns, just kept snapping pictures of Kumonga while we were getting loose. PANEL 6 Close-up on Sauveterre, scowling into their locker. They know EXACTLY who the two troopers are talking about, and are not pleased that she’s not only back at it, but improving her technique. 10. EDF TROOPER 2 Whoever she is, she’s got guts. 11. SAUVETERRE Tch. Idiote. PANEL 7 Closing panel of Sauveterre’s locker, being slammed shut. 12. SFX SLAMM

COLUMN 1 - RODAN PANEL 1 A city street, the city itself is unimportant, being buffeted by hurricane-force winds courtesy of Rodan’s wings. 1. CAPTION - PIPER Soon enough, a pattern developed. 2. SFX WOOOOOOOOSHHHH PANEL 2 Sauveterre and Kendra watch the city from a safe distance, a mile away. Rodan is visible, but not the focus, as it soars over the city. Kendra looks through a set of military binoculars while Sauveterre watches with a frown. 3. KENDRA I’m telling you, there’s no way your girl’s out there. It's like a CAT-5 hurricane. 4. CAPTION - PIPER They’d keep an eye out for me when running missions. 5. KENDRA We should…wait. PANEL 3 Kendra hands the binoculars over to Sauveterre, absolutely flabbergasted by what she saw. 6. KENDRA You’ve gotta be kidding me. 7. CAPTION - PIPER And thanks to my very loyal fanbase keeping the funds rolling in… PANEL 4 Looking through the binoculars, first-person, we see Piper on top of one of the buildings. She’s anchored herself to the building using pitons and clamps. 8. CAPTION - PIPER I’d stay one step ahead. COLUMN 2 - GODZILLA PANEL 5 Sauveterre regards Piper, who is once again handcuffed, with a smug smile. She’s scowling at them as she struggles against the cuffs looped through a pipe on the interior wall of the building they’re currently in. 9. SAUVETERRE It’s for your own good, Ms. Simmons. 10. PIPER Oh, shut up. 11. SFX SKREEEONK PANEL 6 Sauveterre talks to Laura, who is keeping watch at the entryway to the building. 12. SAUVETERRE How are things looking? 13. LAURA Is okay. Godzilla is heading south, should be safe within-- 14. SFX KRSH PANEL 7 The pair go to the pipe, finding the handcuffs open and dangling from the pipe, with a broken window visible behind it. 15. LAURA Picked cuffs. Impressive. PANEL 8 Laura, utterly fearless, smirks at her boss and nudges them with her elbow. Sauveterre is LIVID. 16. LAURA I like her.

COLUMN 3 - HEDORAH PANEL 9 Piper, sporting a full-on gas mask, looks down from the rooftop of a partially collapsed building. The air around her is THICK with Hedorah’s noxious smog, it’s as bad as any wildfire smoke. PANEL 10 Sauveterre looks up at her, coughing wildly and tearing up as they hack into a bandana they’ve tried to use as a makeshift mask. 17. SAUVETERRE {Cough} {Cough} {Cough} 18. CAPTION - PIPER Sometimes I wondered if they were even on a mission. PANEL 11 Close-up of Piper through the lens of her mask. She looks worried. Soft. For the first time since they found out what she does, she’s actually thinking about Sauveterre as more than an annoyance. Regarding them as an actual person. PANEL 12 Piper throws down an extra gas mask at Sauveterre. Not tender enough to hand it to them, but enough to provide some relief. 19. CAPTION - PIPER Or if they were just rushing out there for me. COLUMN 4 - KING GHIDORAH PANEL 13 Sauveterre and Piper are trapped under rubble. Not in danger, but close enough that they’re invading each other’s personal space. It’s close. Intimate. 20. CAPTION - PIPER Turns out I was right. 21. SAUVETERRE This is your fault. 22. PIPER What?! I was trying to leave! Even I know better than to be out when King Ghidorah is around. PANEL 14 Sauveterre looks away, embarrassed. Piper doesn’t lay off, though, yelling in their face. 23. PIPER I ALWAYS know better. I know what I’m doing! Doesn’t the EDF have anything better to do? 24. SAUVETERRE …The EDF has determined you are not a priority. PANEL 15 Piper’s rage dissipates, replaced by genuine confusion. 25. PIPER What?! Then…why? Why do you keep hassling me? 26. SAUVETERRE Because you’re going to get yourself killed. 27. PIPER You don’t care about me. PANEL 16 Both of them realize just how much the distance between them has closed. The turn the conversation has taken. 28. SAUVETERRE …is that so?

I'm still so proud of the GODZILLA VALENTINE’S DAY SPECIAL that came out earlier this year (with @sebastianpiriz.bsky.social, @sharkberri.bsky.social, Johanna Nattalie, and @davidmariotte.bsky.social) and one of the most exciting challenges was cramming and entire whirlwind romance into a one-shot.
