Beautiful photos in your feed. One flower I’m not seeing surprisingly is the Calypso Orchid. They bloom late May to early June in Mueller State Park near Divide CO.

On a grey rainy day I was curious as to what infrared light is available on a day like that. This was just a quick capture from my front steps.

A black and white photograph of a building foundation with vegetation growing around it and tree growing alongside it. The foundation is from a barrack within an internment camp that confined Japanese citizens during world war 2. This was in Colorado with nine other camps across the American west.

Amache National Historic Site, Granada Colorado.

“Sobering” would be a likely response for anyone visiting this site, once home to over 10,000 Japanese, many of them citizens, during WWII. Their crime? Not looking like me. Read more about Amache on nps.gov

Just outside of Leadville Colorado sits this abandoned building, I believe it’s an old schoolhouse. It sits in an amphitheater of the tallest mountains in the state.

Retired kayaks and canoes standing vertical against a brick wall. The image was photographed in the infrared light spectrum which is outside the visible light. One affect is the green leaves on plants appear white.

I imagine this alley is familiar to many Coloradoans or those that have been in the state pursuing outdoor activities. This wall of kayaks and canoes has been photographed innumerable times. I’ve shot it before in color and black & white but this time I wanted to see how it would render in infrared.

Most of the images I share are taken with an older #FujiFilm #X100S that I had converted to shoot #infrared, or light not visible up the human eye which on the spectrum I shoot eliminates the colors we see and renders a stark black and white image.

I like to pause and have questions about an image. Have some mystery even. I don’t know how often that translates to other’s interpretation but hopefully it’ll invite a pause to ponder.

First off, I take photos that I enjoy. While I’m in awe of the grand encompassing images some are able to share my eye goes to the intimate often unnoticed intimate scenes.

Being new here and as an eX I find the engagement refreshing. I thought I’d share a bit about why I share the photos I share…
