... und es zeigte sich einmal mehr, dass teilweise noch viel Aufklärungsarbeit zu leisten ist (z.B. Frauen und ihre vermeintlich fehlende "Berühmtheit" zu Lebzeiten, Frauen als Orchester/Sinfonie-Kompositinnen etc.) Und wie wichtig Komponsitinnen im #Musikunterricht wären!

This is exciting: debut of opera Morgiane, ou Le Sultan D’Ispahan (1887) by American composer Edmond Dede (1827-1903). Apparently the earliest known opera by an African American composer - and not discovered until 2007.

Wochenblatt (shorturl.at/lzbVs) Schröter's version was not part of it.

Darin betont der WR die Relevanz von #GenderStudies & plädiert u.a. dafür, dass sie verlässliche institutionelle Strukturen erhalten. Wer das Gegenteil will, hat es auf Wissenschaft als Ganzes abgesehen.
