Phantom View - Reactor A disabled son care-taking for a disabled father try to understand the mysterious blur haunting them.

"Phantom View" is about a son caretaking for his father, and discovering a blurry person in all their family photos that he has no memory of. The same figure is in all his dad's paintings--and the figure may be in the house with them right now.

It’s entirely possible I’m mistaken, but I’m under the impression Plastic Man’s costume is actually him with his shape change-y powers applied. In which case, he has no need to be practical with it. So, plastic glam? #plasticman #dccomics #characterdesign

It’s fine if you don’t like the construction, but I’d venture to guess the reason it shows up a lot in LLM text is *because it already showed up a lot in existing copy from similar categories.*

The thing about LLM output that may annoy *me* most is how folks insist the presence of a single punctuation type or rhetorical construction is incontrovertible proof of LLM generation. “‘It isn’t just X, it’s Y’ proves an LLM wrote this” appears to be the new em dash and I hate it.

Mr. Freeze: had an idea for super-cold coils, then a puffer vest as a good way to make them wearable. The puffer wear lead me down a kind of winter sports aesthetic.

The layer of systemic bigotry which conditions those of us who fit its “cultural norm” to finds signs of that bigotry unremarkable also conditions us to privilege our attention as “universal.”

I think a lot of white / cis folks are experiencing the pain point where you fully recognize forms of bigotry which have always been there, but have not fully recognized that the first time *you* notice a thing is not the same as the how long a thing has been blatant to others.

I continue to blame the Idea Man myth for a lot of this. So much cultural programming that insists the person with The Amazing Idea is the only essential element. It makes the process of creating art some sort of necessary evil rather than an indispensable foundation.

I feel like we need a rule that everyone who puts out a Tilly article (both writers and venues) needs to put out 10 articles which are as engaged and hyped about queer BIPOC actors’ potential to thrive.

Yasha can still have her connections to Molly. She just wandered off for one of her Mysterious Walkabouts slightly before things went south. When you intro her, you can lean into her Molly connection without as much contradiction. And since Molly’s circus-less, he’ll appreciate a friendly face. 5/5
