Today I did a truly awful job of packing my running gear: I took my towel out of my bag (because I wasn't going to spin class so I clearly didn't need it) and I packed my partner's shorts (not the first time I've done this but our waists are similar sizes so it's fine) #running #runningfails

I loved listening to The Very Secret Society Of Irregular Witches ❀️ such a heartwarming and low stakes book with engaging and lovable characters (especially the kids!). I did have a niggling idea of the final plot twist but that just made it better! #booksky #books #reading #audiobooks

Loved making this octopus so much I made it 3 times! The tentacles are super fun to see curl as you go back over the chain. Melbourne's tram system is wild, some 'stations' are just places where the tram stops in the middle of a busy road and you have to hope as you step out you aren't immediately hit by a car

I've spent all this month trying to fix lab equipment that kept coming up with more problems whenever I solved one. It's true that science doesn't get done without lab techs, and now I'm officially counting down to my holiday #science #labtechlife

Found out today that the local intercity cycleway has a solar system model on it 🌞 I've seen and heard of these before but something about finding one in the wild unexpectedly has really tickled me. Absolutely love it

A while ago I thought it was a bit silly going on holiday less than a month after moving into a new house. I'm t-36 hours from moving and wish the holiday was sooner

My biggest cross stitch project is finished! Took me 10 months to complete and I've spent the last 2 days turning it into a tapestry ready for hanging. So happy with how it's turned out πŸ₯³

Starting to feel like I'm reaching the end of a marathon with my x-stitch project. Started it last August, I'm about 85% through and can see the end. But every time I pick it up it's a heavier mental weight #crossstitch #xstitch #needlework #craft

This weekend I went camping with some friends & at one point after it had gone dark we were sat around the campfire, I looked next to me and a possum friend had joined me on the log I was sitting on, warming themselves by the fire

I really love Tassie

Came on Bluesky excited about this and immediately saw critiques that the researchers and media have sensationalized the results. It'd be nice if just once something really was as exciting as it's made out to be

I've spent the past two afternoons assisting with a lab class for undergrads on seawater measurements, which involved looking at the salt crystals left behind from evaporation.

It's always awe inspiring to see the ordinary up close πŸ§ͺ

Antarctic research has long been hamstrung by reliance on one icebreaker and sporadic funding. That might be about to change

A parliamentary report has called on for a second icebreaking vessel and more reliable funding for Antarctic research.
