This is not caused primarily by "screen time".

It's been caused by the mass eradication of third places for young people in basically every city over the past three decades - and a society that's hostile to the concept of teens socialising in public spaces.

I think we’re on the cusp of mass attempts to automate teaching, and I also think it is going to be a massive wasteful failure in ways that will make the “learning loss” of the pandemic look like a speed bump next to a mountain.

Had to finally release this from my head

It's okay. The big problem for me is finding people to climb with so most of the time I'm just at the bouldering wall by myself.

Not saying I am hyped to go climbing today but I laid out my stuff four hours early.

As much as I love that they get to do the work they've always wanted to do, I feel like putting so much weight on the choices made by fewer than ten people - all of whom have their own, actual lives - is not a sustainable fandom.

Looking at some of the reactions to the Critical Role announcement and I feel like it's time to tap the "don't put individual celebrities on increasingly high pedestals" sign again.
