Dearest readers, Penelope Featherington went to a ball last night, did not dance once, but shared a flask of Whisky with one James Fraser and one Lord John William Grey who, according to rumours exchanged more than just one awkward glance. Yours truly, Lady Whistledown

Dear Israel Apologists:
Israel demanding that everyone condemn the Hamas attack is like a gang of people punching a man in the face over and over and then demanding that everyone condemn him for hurting their hands. The Hamas attack was the natural result of Israel's abuses upon the Palestinian people.
Throwback to when Chiyo and Curry were tiny. #Caturday
I did it. I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT. I finished reading a book. It’s been a while since I could. It’s still hard to focus and I still get distracted a lot but it felt so good to dive into words again and not sit in front of a screen. Baby steps. But steps.
I have long stopped doing New Year resolutions but I’ll be trying a detox January this year.
- No meat
- No sugar
- No shopping
- No TV
Instead I’ll be walking, reading, drawing and taking care of myself. I need it.
But, soft! what day is this?

Rewatching The Bear and I would do anything for her!
Also yes, that’s how we watch TV here. My cat’s a junkie.
Omg it’s awful!!!
6️⃣ Niche Perfume advent calender. Today’s probe: Wolf Brothers Goat Inspiration: Scent of MOUNTAINS’ DRESSES, DREAMS and OBSESSIONS.
I discovered this in a small perfumery in Trieste. I’m obsessed. It’s wild, deep and has a pleasant darkness. I’d f* a bear if he wore this. ;)
5️⃣ Niche Perfume advent calender. Today’s probe: L’Artisan Parfumeur Passage D’Enfer Extreme Inspiration:
Hell’s Passage, made heavenly.
This is actually really good! I love incense perfume and there’s some lily underneath. Wouldn’t buy a bottle, but I enjoy it.
4️⃣ Niche Perfume advent calender. Today’s probe: Etat Libre d’Orange Experimentum Crucis Inspiration: Isaac Newton if he was hit by a rose instead.
Or thousands of roses. Rose perfumes just don’t work for me. It’s a nice one, but I can’t bear it. Gives me a rose headache.
3️⃣ Niche Perfume advent calender. Today’s probe: Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache. Inspiration: Philip Sava’s expedition to the Pacific Northwest.
Well, it’s really just pine, strawberry and smoke. Very comforting and warm. I get bonfire in the woods, a hug, a longing. Nice!

My baby girl is 9 months old already! 🥲
2️⃣ Niche Perfume advent calender. Today’s probe: Initio Rehab. Inspiration: “An ecstatic return to the pleasure of perfume.”
Idk. Rehab is pleasant enough, warm, spicy, but it’s not really anything beyond that. Like something from a drugstore shelf. Pretty. Good. But trivial.
1️⃣ Niche Perfume advent calender. Today’s probe: Schwarzlose Berlin Rausch by Véronique Nyberg. Inspiration: The ecstasy of a Berlin night.
Oud perfumes are a hit or miss on me. This one is a hit. It starts out very vanilla, then the full body of smoky, peppery oud wins! Love!
Picture perfect London day, breakfast at Dishoom with my friend Nina, Guildhall Christmas Market, tea shopping and now off to Bridge Theatre to watch Guys and Dolls. One of the good days!
