Knackered masters student. I like music and books and films and polaroids and my beach. And sometimes spending too much time playing RPGs.

My thesis on mental health during the pandemic, using auto/biography and interviews with single and middle aged people about their experiences, is available to download. I talk about the impact the pandemic had on friendships, and the growth it allowed for some.

I couldn't answer on where that hierarchy comes from, but I was quite interested to see that in this book, Big Friendship, the best friend authors had difficulties and managed to find a couples therapist to work with them. I guess not everyone privileges couples.

Finally did a polaroid double exposure I'm proud of. It's taken me a lot of packs of film to get here. And an app.

Totally true. I love my friends as much and more than many romantic relationships, but it's considered a stupid thing to say.

Society (1989) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers YouTube video by Rotten Tomatoes Classic Trailers

One of my xmas pressies was a tshirt designed by the amazing Jim'll Paint It with characters from my fave horror films, and also Society, which I saw for 1st time this evening. It blows its special effects budget in the last half hour. The body horror is ridiculous and inventive.

Last night I went to my bro's art exhibition - The Dark Room - in Lambs Gallery, Lostwithiel. Most art painted in UV paint, and with the chance to make your own art and add to the walls, it's a great exhibition and I'm proud. You can still see it as its on this week 😁 #cornwall #lostwithiel #art

The lucifer effect by Philip zimbardo is a good read.
The phemonology of working class experience by Charlesworth was one, of the first psych books I fell in love with.
The mirror dance by krieger is more sociology but I love that also.

I'm a social psychology fan myself. I like the focus on social factors that's missing in a lot of psychology stuff. Are there any topics you're particularly interested in?

Behavioural psychology isn't that great, although if you're going that way I quite enjoyed Walden two by bf skinner.

What with this being the new place to come to when you're pissed off with the old places, I wanted my first post to be full of joy. This is my local beach, deserted, dark and in the rain. Always makes me smile. #parbados
