Already see familiar names on the list of signatories, friends from classes and from Longhorn Band - proud of my fellow alumni for speaking out about this ridiculous and potentially tragic choice our alma mater is considering.

@climateheritage.bsky.social member Lori Ferriss of Built Buildings Lab came to San Antonio earlier this year to show off the CARE tool for comparing the carbon impact of reuse, retrofits, and new construction. #climateheritage

This is another space where culture needs to lead the way to climate solutions. Food ways and practices are important parts of community identity. Rather than be a barrier, we must/will help foster real, lasting change. It's happening and we need to accelerate. @climateheritage.bsky.social

Late to this but wanted to throw in the CARE tool as a resource (among the many others already shared here!) for calculating the impact of decarbonizing existing buildings. I'm sure Indiana's own @andrewspotts.bsky.social would love to see something like this happen there!

She's part of the reason Z's middle name is Jane. May her memory be a blessing.

I have long suspected this truth, and regretfully I must confirm its veracity now that I have met my colleagues in person for the very first time - they are genuinely and unapologetically hilarious.

The word coal evokes childhood memories of works by Charles Dickens, Frank McCourt, Anna Sewell, Frances Hodgson Burnett - hell, even the movie October Sky - that use it as a marker of poverty, misery, desperation, and squalor.
Imagine explaining this news to Oliver Twist.

Listening to fellow travelers muse about why TSA is here at our gate checking IDs again before we board - even here in TX ppl know it's a childish show of force, schoolyard bully tactics of intimidation, unnecessary, fashy. Houston, we have a problem. 😑

Let's hold ourselves to the highest standard, respect and remember the stories of communities that are different than our own experiences and perceptions, and give the next generation the opportunity to understand their role as "stewards for the voices of the past."

In the past few months, NPS interpretive panels have been altered or removed, websites documenting historic sites/stories have been scrubbed, and funding for museums and humanities research has been slashed.
