I'm wondering if companies are absorbing some of the impact of tarrifs and reducing costs to compensate?

Retired Canadian man I believe my good fortune should not preclude the good fortune of others. Also, part owner of Canada.
I'm wondering if companies are absorbing some of the impact of tarrifs and reducing costs to compensate?
07.11.2025 13:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0America is a country of idiots. None have the wherewithal to fight this scourge. Yes they are all angry now but they lose interest. Note the lack of attention between mass shootings. Any other country would be on the streets, but they don't have Citizens United!
28.08.2025 12:27 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've been yelling that for months. Why the f aren't they out in the streets in the millions. Some Canadians are doing more than many Americans. I have a condo in florida and we and many of our friends are not going. Its small act, but the effect with many can be consequential, just like protesting.

Sure, a country that can't even come to the defense of children that are being shot in schools. What makes you think the country has the wherewithal to come together on this?
03.07.2025 19:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Could not agree more! Somehow we live in a society where the majority of people believe protesting is posting a meme or pic on social media. That does shit. There needs to be hundreds of thousands or more on the street protesting peacefully. For God's sake, there's 10 million in greater LA.
11.06.2025 12:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0While I applaud those that are there, it's not enough. FFS, get out there people. They can run over a few hundred or a few thousand. Get out in the 100s of thousands and they're powerless. You're defending democracy. I know if it was my country, I'd be out every day even tho I'm close to 70
07.06.2025 20:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just as tariffs on many US products into Canada are unnecessary. We can manage that shit ourselves
07.06.2025 16:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0These cuties decided to make a nest on our windowsill a few weeks ago. I think we are going to legally adopt the babies.
15.05.2025 14:48 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I love spring time. We live in a very rural community in SW Ontario. Every spring we get to see acres upon acres of bright yellow canola flowers. It only lasts but a few weeks but it's wonderful.

30.04.2025 17:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think many people feel that way. We disagree with his politics but on a personal basis we have the utmost respect for him. What a terrific human being. So much class. I hope we see him somewhere in the near future.
29.04.2025 21:35 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well done! Many times I've found myself typing a reply to an annoying post only to delete it and try again. Then I realize....they don't deserve my time or thoughts. My life is better without them.
23.04.2025 18:38 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0For my Canadian friends on here, try using Vivaldi, headquartered in Oslo Norway.
07.04.2025 12:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As much as I agree Tesla should not be part of any incentives, Ontario does not have any ev incentives. Ford did away with them on his election. Facts matter
18.03.2025 22:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This is an argument I hear all the time. If it weren't for the US bla bla bla. If you entered the war with the rest of the fuken world, maybe we wouldn't have so many dead. But no, wasn't your war so you left it to the rest. Sound familiar?
17.03.2025 18:16 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In your country you're either a Rep or Dem on voting day. I read you're not a Dem so go f yourself. Not because you're not a Dem but because you are a rep.
15.03.2025 16:35 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0PP has no credibility. A career politician with no real accomplishments. How about you come up with some real policy, rather than 3 word name calling.
15.03.2025 03:08 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I feel much of the media is missing the point. Not only Canadians are boycotting American products, but many countries around the world are too. This is not your typical boycott. Its systemic throught these countries and will hurt the American economy deeply. Next quarter should be interesting.
13.03.2025 03:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Sorry, but let's make sure we get this right. The layoffs were announced in mid Jan in response to declining sales in 2024.
That's not to say the Canadian boycott won't have an equal effect in the future, but this layoff is not related.
Yeah let's not celebrate anything Mitch does. The only reason he voted against Trump now is because he is retiring. He's still a spineless troglodyte.
07.03.2025 19:31 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Any way to report an error using Google maps? I've looked around but can't find a way.
11.02.2025 19:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As Canadians I don't think we will need retaliatory tariffs against Trump. I went grocery shopping today and was blown away by how many people were reading labels to see where the items were made.
I know my basket had $0 in US made goods. Canadians will retaliate on our own!
I understand that many of you didn't vote for him, but your apologies read like thoughts and prayers.
02.02.2025 22:31 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just watching Newsroom with Jeff Daniels. It's chillingly relevant and in some many ways shows the genesis of what the Republican shit show of a party has become today.
Terrific writing and acting. I highly recommend it if you can find it.
