I'm wondering if companies are absorbing some of the impact of tarrifs and reducing costs to compensate?

America is a country of idiots. None have the wherewithal to fight this scourge. Yes they are all angry now but they lose interest. Note the lack of attention between mass shootings. Any other country would be on the streets, but they don't have Citizens United!

I've been yelling that for months. Why the f aren't they out in the streets in the millions. Some Canadians are doing more than many Americans. I have a condo in florida and we and many of our friends are not going. Its small act, but the effect with many can be consequential, just like protesting.

Could not agree more! Somehow we live in a society where the majority of people believe protesting is posting a meme or pic on social media. That does shit. There needs to be hundreds of thousands or more on the street protesting peacefully. For God's sake, there's 10 million in greater LA.

While I applaud those that are there, it's not enough. FFS, get out there people. They can run over a few hundred or a few thousand. Get out in the 100s of thousands and they're powerless. You're defending democracy. I know if it was my country, I'd be out every day even tho I'm close to 70

I love spring time. We live in a very rural community in SW Ontario. Every spring we get to see acres upon acres of bright yellow canola flowers. It only lasts but a few weeks but it's wonderful.

I feel much of the media is missing the point. Not only Canadians are boycotting American products, but many countries around the world are too. This is not your typical boycott. Its systemic throught these countries and will hurt the American economy deeply. Next quarter should be interesting.

Sorry, but let's make sure we get this right. The layoffs were announced in mid Jan in response to declining sales in 2024.
That's not to say the Canadian boycott won't have an equal effect in the future, but this layoff is not related.

As Canadians I don't think we will need retaliatory tariffs against Trump. I went grocery shopping today and was blown away by how many people were reading labels to see where the items were made.
I know my basket had $0 in US made goods. Canadians will retaliate on our own!

Just watching Newsroom with Jeff Daniels. It's chillingly relevant and in some many ways shows the genesis of what the Republican shit show of a party has become today.
