I needed this today. Thank you. And 💜 the shoes!
Love this!!
Love this, and mirrors my recent experience of SBC/SBC-adjacent to becoming Lutheran #ELCA. It feels like a safe place, much less ego and show biz feel, and an emphasis on communion and community—one that tangibly serves those around us.
A single joyous act can lighten the darkness—for both giver and receiver. I love Angel Tree gifts! This little one is a STEM girl and we are excited to put together some special gifts for her. Thanks @salvationarmyuk.bsky.social for what you do here 💜 🎁
I feel like I’m rediscovering him. He’s an important voice for this moment.
Thank you!
As a writer I find this comforting. We write to have conversations with people in other times and places. Books are carriers of legacy. Books are the way the dead talk to the living.
I have not read a lot of his work, only individual essays. I want to remedy that, though. So any advice appreciated. I like this piece: If Black English Isn't a Language, Then Tell Me, What Is?

A new way to resist? I’m in.
Love him
Thank you for this! Grief is a good container right now for these feelings. Grief and maybe regret, too, knowing it could have been a different story.
Post a non-religious photo you think of as holy...
Sometimes I feel bad that I’ve given up on people, too, not just places. People caught up in toxic spaces. Since I want/need to move on, I feel bad that I’m leaving them behind, that I now, in a way, have an aversion to them. It’s complicated 😅
Glad you’re writing about this.
What do we do with all these old places and spaces??!!
I feel this way about my old church. But I also feel bad about that sometimes….
I didn’t know this about you!
Me too! My dad raised me on Peterson’s Field Guide
Robert picked a second batch of apples off our Granny Smith tree yesterday. She’s a fierce tree living at 4,000 feet in snow & ice, deer and squirrels nibbling at her leaves & bark. This year she gave us the most apples ever! Be like Granny and stand strong; raise your voice and tell your stories 💜🍏
Nice to meet you and doing that now! My 30yo daughter is a licensed wildlife rehabber here in the woods and she will be very happy to hear there is such a thing as ecotheology 💜
Adding you now 💜
I didn’t have two of the three so I’ve added them. Thank you!! 💜
I think I might have them on the list already but I will double check 💜
Added you! 💜
It’s so life giving!
Two fellow students, Susy Flory & Scott Johanningsmeier, initiated a book project entitled, "Jesus Was" & several students contributed chapters. A special forward was written for the book by Scot X. McKnight. Kregel Pub. Is going to publish it - Spring 2025. Excited to share this book with you!
