while it is a relief to see Discord is no longer partnering with Persona and the age verification rollout has been delayed, that fact they still plan to go through with it is not great. Age verification doesn't ever reduce harm to children, just makes it easier to track people online.

Just remembered how crucial and actually cannon the whole Anveena stuff was to Silvermoon's lore and the Sunwell. She's not the most compelling character but further proof that Sunwell is a font of arcane power and not light before Velen pissed light into it in TBC.

i feel like this would be solved if more of the writers came from diverse cultures, because they keep moralizing with goodness = proximity to human standards = proximity to human culture = proximity to real world angloeuropean culture

the animation was GORGEOUS btw, and everything else in it I loved! I just didn't really vibe with the vague "energy" wording, seen as yellowish white, juxtaposed with liadrin asking what is the light!

and void is fun (fel? what IS fel?)

the focus on elven relationship to the light pre-fall (and in current lore) is an effort to sanitize blood elves so that the void elves can more easily present as the edgy, cool, thematic successors to tbc Belves, except grape flavored. This is imho whitewashing, and largely due to alliance bias

i miss this sunwell, the runes and wards, the arcane crystals, the yellow glow that is nevertheless not directly associated to the Light

i know it's written that way because it's from a priestly character's perspective- the problem with centering priests in a culture that's extremely magocratic is that they don't really feel like blood elves

the implications of that still feel like a sneaky way to launder the culturally human Light into a pre-fall society that had no real instituted light worship in the way they're painting it. Besides making it yellow for aesthetic reasons, what else could it imply? :| Idk i'm tired of defanged elves

i feel insane for this but literally NOBODY mentioned the blatant retcon in the Liadrin "All that is sacred" animation, when the Sunwell is said to be a font of Light. It was always ARCANE pre-fall.

TBH I think that the male character designs are overall too sharp/harsh specifically, and it's not an overall thing of the style.

I think the Sylvanas design is *perfect* within style, not overtly sharp or chiseled, with exaggeration when the action needed it.

Others said it already but i do like they give sharp facials to eleven women.

Not to be biase because i do the same every time i draw my sentinel.
