Needless to say, I’m not a fan of (most) AI.

I’d be happy to provide example for the latter, but this post is already too long, and we risk losing the plot.

I’m annoyed by the reality that the decision to rent versus own (everything) continues to be decided by economic factors weighed down by individuals who don’t even add value to our lives.

While it would be reasonable to assume that our system encourages competition- allowing for sturdy electromechanical alternatives to chips to re enter the market- it has been shown time and time again that it’s much easier for “innovators” to undercut competitors at a loss using startup finances.

Computers are in EVERYTHING. And while not every embedded system requires high end ram or a lot of memory, it’s not hard to imagine that a shortage of equipment and components will jack up the price of healthcare, transportation, groceries, home ownership and who knows what else.

I think one of the overlooked fundamental issues with the Ram/Storage “shortage” caused by the AI market is not just that tech giants want you to rent your computing power from them and own less. Though that is a problem.

Warudo hand tracking through Quest 3S and SteamVR. By wearing the headset around my neck and playing with (very finicky) offsets, I can track hands without interfering with iPhone facial capture.
