🧵 4/4 Our next bargaining session with the district is April 30.
🧵 3/4 The School Committee shared some counter proposals and responses. The CEA team asked questions about these proposals in an effort to ensure we understood and could craft meaningful responses. Our bargaining team will be crafting responses to some proposals when our team meets next week.
🧵 2/4 We also asked questions about 5 proposal responses from the district so we can provide informed responses at a future session.

CEA made counter proposals on 7 proposals, and reasserted 3 proposals. One proposal we reasserted was about class size and caseloads to ensure every student gets the educational experience that they deserve.

Canton's class sizes don't stack up with our neighboring and local comparable communities! We ranked 9th of 12 on overall class size averages for 2023-2024, according to data from DESE.

CEA members brought their union shirts all the way to the Colosseum over break! These CHS educators spent part of their break chaperoning a student trip to Italy 🇮🇹
