My thinking is that a necromancer works with dead people. Of course they're gonna have some understanding of the importance of protecting themselves from infectious diseases!

They're wearing a facemask and taking proper precautions. Maybe they're wearing protective clothing like a biosuit or a plague doctor outfit. Point is, they are taking logical steps to protect themselves. That's a very important plot point.

Like, one is headed to California, one is headed to New York, one is headed to Arlington, etc. None of them know if the others will make it, they're out of communication, they can only hope. They know if they succeed, they might be able to build an army that can stop the virus zombies.
I don't know what a good name for this would be, yet. Roommate suggested "Zombie Wars", but I feel like that's too close to World War Z.
Lots of interesting questions and lore potential around the necromancer, though. Secret cult stuff. Maybe there's more than one, each going different directions?
Along the way our main character stops at smaller cemeteries, raising a hundred skeletons here, a few dozen ghouls there, etc. to try to fight the hordes of infected people, but most cemeteries are small. That's why they need the big ones - to raise a proper army.
You see, the main character is a Necromancer, and they're traveling towards some major cemetery like Calvary Cemetery in New York City - that one has 3 million graves. They're raising an army of the undead to fight the living zombies, because undead can't be affected by the virus.
Zombie movie idea. There's been an outbreak of one of those Zombie diseases, like in 28 Days Later or The Last Of Us. It sweeps across the country, people go crazy, etc.
The main character of the movie has to cross the country because they think they know a way to stop the outbreak. 1/
The forming coarse texture of his skin against the bedsheets sent a jolt of pleasure through him. Thrusting his hips forward instinctively, thick, hot ropes erupt beneath him, releasing what little human was left.
