Oh was it, thanks. Exemplary source!
Well said.
I was reading a politician's autobiography recently. In it they wrote that people don't remember what you said, or did, but they do remember how they felt.
I feel patronised and belittled by so much of today's rhetoric.
Where is the hope?
Here I am, having breakfast in a very ordinary manner. Then I read this ....

Sure, AI is costing $billions and consuming copious resources, all to produce creepy slop that barely anyone likes. But the alternative would giving that funding to actual human artists. Can you imagine!?! Countless talented people, with free reign to create. What sort of world would that be!?
The end of BBC World Service would be an absolute tragedy.
Shame on our Government for even considering this.
Yes they would have been given a proof before the print run. They can't blame the printers for their negligence.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

The @nationaltrust.org.uk is a beacon of hope in these benighted days.
Thank you NT.
My local NT property, Saltram House is currently improving wheelchair access to the house, this is really good news.
Please read this. The UK political & media establishment is asleep at the wheel.
We have made ourselves wholly dependent on a Trump ally for our national security at the exact moment Trump is threatening to invade a NATO ally

Oh wow....
In my world, podcasts are audio and are great for daytime, to accompany me doing stuff like walking the dog or cooking.
Video equates to TV and is evening entertainment. I have more than enough TV to watch.
So, no I won't bother with video podcasts.
Thanks for the reminder!
We invited a man into our home at Christmas and he stayed with us for 45 years www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
It’s the day after the night before Christmas, but I hope you enjoy this - dedicated to those dreading visits from reactionary relatives!
Not sure that's a good thing Mr Starmer?
I've noticed for some time that my @firefox.com browser is pushing AI and I'm not keen.
This sounds like the last straw, I feel the internet is rapidly becoming less useful anyway.
I shall be looking for a European browser that is not full of promotions and AI slush.
The BBC lets Farage use it as a personal propaganda channel but forces @robinince.bsky.social off air for being too left wing. Bloody hell, this country’s mainstream media is a disgrace.
I'm shocked to read this Robin. I've just been listening to Rutger Bregman, that gave me a morsel of hope, now this.
Does this mean that noone who does any work at all for the BBC is allowed to say anything about anything?
I will miss the Monkey Cage hugely, and now subscribe to @cosmicshambles.com
Ok, I overheard this joke.
There are people that say Steve Jobs would have made a better president than Donald Trump.
We'll never know, because let's face it. That's comparing apples to oranges.

You know, in the run-up to Iraq, people didn't talk this way out loud. Now? MAGA doesn't understand that there's a loud part and a quiet part.
Hi All, just released my free weekend update. Its fascinating who backed the Trump-Putin 28 point plan, and what it means about the US government being a mouthpiece for Russia. Plus, you cannot back Trump and Ukraine--if you back Trump, you can only have one master open.substack.com/pub/phillips...
