New "49ers +/-" with @mattbarrows.bsky.social -- what the Odighizuwa trade tells us about the defensive scheme, the draft and the rest of the offseason

Of the Warriors' remaining 17 games, two are against Washington -- March 16 on the road and March 27 at Chase.
So there might be a 60-pointer out there for Horford or Porzings. Or both.
Per source, the 49ers and TE Jake Tonges have struck a two-year deal worth $8M overall and $5.5M guaranteed. Tonges, who filled in well for George Kittle last season, had been a restricted free agent.
IF Curry comes back March 25, that would be with 10 games left in the regular season -- including two back-to-backs.
5 games takes this 4 games into the middle of the upcoming 6-game East road trip -- would doubt Curry returns on the road.
Makes March 25 at home vs. Brooklyn a potential return date.
(Same day as Giants vs. Yankees Opening Night, FYI.)
The Warriors will rule out Steph Curry for another 10 days, stretching five more games, sources tell me and @shamscharaniaa.bsky.social. There has been notable progress. He’s back on the court and expected to intensify workouts in upcoming days. Absence will reach at least 20 games.
New "North & South" with @dylanohernandez.bsky.social -- Bam's 83 vs. Kobe's 81, Team USA troubles, nixed NFL trades and more.

The weird part of the latest spin: That the 49ers are just telling Trent, hey, if you can get more and we can do a trade, fine!
But he's under contract. The only way this situation starts is if the 49ers don't want to pay it.
Which makes it on THEM.
New "Warriors Plus-Minus" with Nick Friedell -- 2 bad losses sour the mood. Also, who's worth more, Melton or Podziemski?

Warriors couldn't stay in front of Giddey and Jones and couldn't do anything with Buzelis.
Also: fouling up 3 didn't work.
Horford, Santos and Draymond in for Porzingis, Podziemski and GP2
Warriors start OT with:
Porzingis, Spencer, Podziemski, GP2 and Richard
And didn't work this time, by the way.
This is why just-foul-up-3-every-time sometimes isn't perfect.
I think Cryer's a player.
Closing without Podziemski and Draymond, as I'm sure most have noticed.
Got his second wind or is just grinding through it
No Billy Donovan timeout here is hilarious. Tankingly hilarious.
Santos just doesn't have it tonight. No legs.
Just so slow tonight
So far...
Spencer +16
Porzingis +13
Cryer +13
I don't want to start another internet wildfire, but that was something Kuminga really developed -- and it led to at least a basket a night for him.
Several Warriors players would be really, really helped if they could use their opposite hand to shoot around the rim.
I think only three can on this roster: Curry, Butler and Melton. Maybe Draymond.
And Kerr subs out Santos for Cryer
The Warriors look tired and slow. Second night of a back-to-back... but also some of these guys aren't used to playing these kinds of minutes.
Santos in particular seems stuck in mud. Understandably.
Porzingis doing a mini-Bam: 7 points in 2 minutes so far
Glad @dylanohernandez.bsky.social can pod tomorrow. Because I've got some Bam/Kobe thoughts.
Bam Adebayo tonight:
83 points (2nd most ever, Wilt scored 100)
43 FT attempts (most ever, Dwight Howard had 39)
36 made FTs (most ever, Wilt had 28)
First ever 30+ FTA/20+ 3pt attempts game
Bam had 92 points total over his previous 4 games.
His PPG went up from 18.9 to 20.0.
Not a Kobe internet guy but Kobe got 81 on 9 less threes and 23 less FTs lol.
Asked Kerr about LJ Cryer pregame. Kerr said Cryer should have a good NBA career and Kerr clearly loves that Cryer played for Kelvin Sampson at Houston.
This is me: His 3-point shot should definitely give him rotation minutes somewhere, maybe here.
