There are just too many decision points in any given ability, you'd just be endlessly clicking through dialogue boxes like "Use Strive?" "Use a boon?" Just had a tremendous breakthrough on the new token sync code. Can't wait to debut this, assuming it holds steady in WAN tests!
17.02.2024 00:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The advantage of this is that if there's any packet loss, the client will just keep requesting the missing piece(s). In the old system it would just keep requesting the whole image every interval until the network disconnected.

In the old version, the client sends the entire image in pieces to the host, who sends those pieces to the players who don't have the image yet. In the new system, the pieces are shared by players using a torrent-like system!

Well, it's finally time to redo the modal system, the token library won't work otherwise. I didn't think that having a single dynamic modal would work in perpetuity, but I'm glad it carried isocon this far.
