Unfortunately, we’ve discovered that American democracy only really sort of worked as long as no one especially pushed back at its norms.

As long as we do not take the painful steps to weed out the malicious Republican actors and their enablers, we’ll never manage to turn the corner.

That’s why I encourage everyone to check in with @rude1.blacksky.team & the great work that they’re doing. Blacksky & its related infrastructure (like the myatproto.social migration I just did) are aware of the cosmic missteps of BlueSky proper and are VERY intentionally not repeating them.

I’m not advocating for a revolution. Not at all.
What I AM advocating for is peaceful /non-violent civil disobedience & resistance coupled with barring the Republican instigators of Jan 6, Trump & full cabinet, and from public office for life. Life sentences in federal supermax & NO death penalty.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the reason was both this ridiculous and also this obvious.

I really wish Richard Engel from NBC News had a presence out here in federated space. One of the reasons I still have my X account is to follow him and a number of the journalists and vetted sources I respect.

It’s an interesting point. Vance is a moist beard in a suit and Johnson doesn’t have the charisma God gave a piece of lint.

Will someone like MTG (a horrible but tenacious person) manage to capture the intensity of Trumpism without the man himself?

I’m not sure the Dems realize this. I’m a registered Dem myself, and the party always seems to believe in the moral arc of justice without putting the correct plans in place to get us there.

Dems need to be bold and tenacious & hammer messages like Reps. But toward better goals.

As someone who is casually / “greatest hits” familiar with Genesis, would this album be the best way to dive a little deeper? What would you recommend?

Is it just me / a setting I should change? If not, maybe a potential bug to examine?

Jay’s actions were the tipping point in my decision to move from original BlueSky to the BlackSky supported PDS.

Jay literally needs to take some serious time for reflection, and I honestly think they need to resign.

Just because a great protocol was built doesn’t mean Jay needs to run us all off.
