What a lovely afternoon it was! Thank you both! 😊

I just remembered to put my spaghetti in the fridge, so that's an added bonus! 😊

I bloody love choosing laptops. It's washing machines and power tools and things that are confusing.
(If i can help let me know!)

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse is a fucking OUTSTANDING movie. One I could watch again and again. It's vivid, enthralling, glamorous, touching, and frequently funny.
Slightly disappointed by Across the Spider-verse which, just as I thought, "ooh, this is getting good..."

Ended. Boo.

I've been thinking about rewatching it for YEARS, so I can cross that one off now 😂

Yes, I'm sure I've a similar list of plenty that did pass me by!

I was relatively impressed by the effects and the music.
I see why I forgot the Big Bad. Not sure why he kept the princess (classic damsel in distress 🙄) in a giant eyeball/oversized lampshade.

Remembered how the spider worked when seeing the lair.

Happy I still liked the Cyclops.

Very 80s.

Ah it wasn't bad. I certainly don't regret watching it. I mean it's completely ridiculous in more ways than one, but it's a fun enough romp.

You can tell this is an 80s movie because it has quicksand in it, something we all expected to be a much bigger problem in life from 80s literature.

Maybe climate change will bring this about and we should be teaching today's young people about it 🤔

The wizard "short in stature, tall in..." Something else. Did he ... turn into a tiger? The glaive coming out of a lava place? The Cyclops who I always felt was the real hero. (Seeing the credits also vaguely reminds me of Shelob-style Giant Spider Lady)
... I think that's about it 😂

I remember: the girl and the boy passing fire between each other as part of a wedding thing. The giant moving fortress (which kidnapped the princess). I don't remember a specific Big Bad behind it but there probably is.

The cover art for the Krull movie - a five-pointed glaive in the foreground. A princess, a chap, a thing that looks like a lampshade (sorry - no idea what that is), a Cyclops, and some alien soldier baddies can be seen between the arms of the glaive.

I am going to watch Krull. Probably the last time I did this was on a video cassette. I'll let you know 😂

Ooh, I know this one! Ancient boats made it there from Polynesia with probably one heck of a lot of skill and luck.
Today*, native Hawaiians are a minority in their own country (behind Filipino, Japanese, and American immigrants).

* I went there almost 20 years ago and some of the facts stuck 😊

'Don't overdo it, Steve': The BBC in testy exchange with Belarus president After an election win which has been widely criticised as illegitimate, Alexander Lukashenko faced questions from the BBC's Russia editor Steve Rosenberg.

This is an incredible exchange. The BBC's Steve Rosenberg asking questions of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

I used my slow cooker as a humidifier for a few days last week 😂🙈
(Water and Vicks, popped on high, lid ajar. I think it helped! ... And then gave it a good clean and clean confirm the next thing cooked in it did not taste of Vicks 😂)

I'm a bit petrified about the future. But like all truly difficult decisions, I know it was the right one.

I think there are lots of things we have relationships with - people are clear and easy to see - but there is so much else.
And I had realised my work relationship wasn't the right fit for me anymore.

In the last twenty five years I have lived in four places, fallen in and out of love, and learnt more about myself than I might have imagined.

But through all that I had one thing that remained constant;
as of last Friday, though, I did my last day of work there.

I recently realised how long ago 2009 actually was, and things like this definitely reinforce the fact that some sort of time dilation effect is in place 😂
