A phenomena I’ve seen many autistic people exhibit is spending time with different friend groups independently to meet all their emotional stimulation needs. As an autistic person myself, I find myself doing this often! I have far many interests and many friends to share them with, and only so much-

I’m confident in my ability to pick up a relationship where it left off years after not talking, some of my friends can attest! It’s unfortunate that circumstances can affect friendship, but I give everyone the same amount of grace, and can only pray that grace is offered back to me. Often it isn’t.

That is to say, I don’t believe in friendship degradation. I truly make an effort to connect although it’s incredibly hard at times given my stage in recovery, but it doesn’t mean I’ve pushed someone aside or forgot. I treat all my friendships with the same level of respect and care, irregardless.

However, this is not to say that I’ve forgotten about or dismissed my friends, my followers, and those who care about me. Even if I’m not active, I still hold my supporters close to my heart and the love I have been given is the reason I can keep healing. I’m so blessed and beyond thankful, truly. 🩷

As many of you know, I had to take a several month break to dedicate as much time as necessary to my recovery, as I was in dire need of a total emotional reset to process some of the very severe trauma I’ve experienced in the past. I won’t delve much into personal details for my own comfort.
