This is all beside the fact that comics doesn’t pays well for any caliber of artist, so the “great” ones probably don’t feel compelled to labor to draw a whole book/issue often.

That’s fine but I think you’re talking about something else. I agree, I do think it’s alway weird when cape comics/floppies have someone else draw their covers and someone else draw the interiors, it’s a sort of cat-fish, haha. Believe in your interior artists, damn.

I mean if you REALLY want it as a little treat, I would just stick to making the cover fancy-printed. Interior doesn’t need that treatment.

My LAST dumbass take is that people don’t need to print/bind their comics and zines so nicely unless it’s so long it would be unwieldy to print at kinkos and staple together. Your comic will probably look just as good in black and white, it doesn’t need to be riso’d. Save money! Make it zine-style!

Writing is HARD!!! Drawing and writing is DOUBLE hard, but I’m glad we have people like you helping hone the craft.

Another take is that superhero comics should stop coloring their shit if they want to keep up with manga’s output. It’s a conflicting feeling because I hate people (flatters, colorists) losing jobs but a lot of cape stuff is just as well drawn as manga, it doesn’t necessarily need color to sell it.

Also I love auto-bio, even the boring shit. It’s a marvel when someone decides to draw the most mundane thing, like why were you compelled to draw that? I stop at Instagram like-bait relatable-slop comics, though.

Many comics look great but are badly written, or about fuck all. I own so many books like this. At the same time, if the story is real whatever, but the art is so entertaining, I can forgive it. Sometimes the way something is drawn can make you think more than how the story it’s set in reads.

I grew up in an area without ticks, god what a nightmare bug. I couldn’t imagine not being able to walk thru tall grass/the woods without fear of one tiny bug ruining your freaking life.

Also I tagged you on insta posts of my boards, but idk if you have an art-specific insta? The one I found seems to be just old personal photos, I want to make sure that’s cool?

Gonna look into downgrading to a much smaller cintiq next job so I’m not making such big arm movements. I got into the bad habit zooming in and using my whole arm to draw and ended up with a repetitive-stress injury in my shoulder. Take care of yourselves when working! Don’t wait till it’s too late!

I even dropped out of CALA because I had to chill on drawing! Feels bad, man, but I’ve gotta protect the money-maker. Hoping to get back into physical therapy but I also think drawing on a huge cintiq is that caused this, hopefully I will be okayed to draw on paper since I draw much smaller that way

I wish I could draw promo images for the new Fionna & Cake episodes, but I actually injured my arm while working on the show, so I’m resting it because it flared up again on the last show I was on.
