I am an evidence synthesis methodologist and epidemiologist. I explore bias in Network Meta-Analysis and automation of bias assessment in systematic reviews. I work in Squamish, BC, and am an avid rock climber and gardener. #NMA #metaresearch

With 40% of staff positions eliminated, the remaining staff and services will focus on core library functions, including Collection Development and Health Data Standards (formerly Bibliographic Services). NCBI will continue operations but with reduced staff and services. Outreach will no longer be considered a core function. The Branch, which oversees NNLM, will be dissolved. NNLM will continue under the Office of Strategic Operations Traveling Exhibits and History Talks are suspended. Exhibits already on loan or scheduled will proceed, but no new programs or outreach initiatives will be offered. No new website curations will be created. MedlinePlus will be maintained as needed, but no new content will be developed.
Sharing this update provided to me directly about the state of NLM and the future of NNLM, traveling exhibits, and, somehow, MedlinePlus.
I am so worried for friends and colleagues, and I'm stuck on that, but it is hard to not want to scream WTF about a MedlinePlus with no new material.

You're a trad climber! How was it? I climbed in Scotland but it wasn't the greatest (but I love in Squamish, BC, so there's that ๐)

4/ โก๏ธ For policymakers & guideline developers: Provides confidence that NMA-based recommendations are built on trustworthy evidence
What's in the Paper?
A multi-item tool covering key sources of bias in NMAs
Practical guidance on applying the tool, with real-world examples
3/ How this tool can help:
โก๏ธFor researchers: Ensures methodological rigor when conducting and appraising NMAs
โก๏ธFor HTA professionals & market access teams: Supports robust evidence evaluation for
reimbursement and coverage decisions
2/ It was a pleasure to be the lead researcher of an international team to develop the ROB NMA tool, published in The BMJ. This tool provides a structured, transparent approach for assessing the risk of bias in NMAS, filling a key gap in the evaluation of comparative effectiveness research
