It seems like the people I respect who have gotten useful stuff out of these things (say, fasterthanlime) are doing it by having really aggressive testing strategies, and treating the models more like 12 million monkeys writing shakespeare with a very good spellchecker set up.

Like, people's self-reported productivity improvement I think is mostly slot-machine dopamine hits, and the studies of negative productivity fall into the same 'oops all students' problem that the studies 'disproving' the usefulness of types or unit tests do.

I've been messing around with these things after being generally a skeptic. I don't think the productivity claims in either direction are real.

They've demonstrated that they will release their goons from prison if they get power again, with the J6 crowd. So if the plan is 'imprison ICE', then it has to include 'Republican party never takes power again' for that to stick.

I don't think there is any shortcut or technical fix that can get around breaking the power of the Republican party. Anything you want to implement to help reach people or bring people together is only going to be possible when orgs like Fox or TPUSA are subject to real consequences.

The important thing about having the government point the guns is that it's a credible threat of the government doing it again in the future.
